@@dfgndfghdfghdfgh My father was the US Ambassador to Afghanistan. My family lived there from the time I was 6 to 14 years of age. Afghanistan while being Muslim had adopted many western cultures. Men wore American suits. Women wore pants. The education system K-12 was funded by the government. Women smoked and drank alcohol. There was a prominent nightlife with fancy restaurants and night clubs both of which had house bands (orchestras). They had television production. This all was mostly just found in Kabul and a little bit in Kandahar. The people who lived in the mountain villages were a lot poorer and for the most part held their traditional lifestyle of goat herding and living in poverty. In 1974 the more extreme Muslim traditionalist began asserting their power and control and squashed western influence. You really need to do your own research prior to speaking ignorance.
