There is a serious lack of benches, shade structures, misting stations, decent filtered water, not enough chairs and tables. If it’s busy there is no place to sit so you have to eat standing up in the sun. No place to rest or take a break from the heat. I will never again go to Disneyland in summer months. I’m from out of town so it’s not like I can just go home and recover from heat and standing all day. Shaded Benches please!

Another crowd factor: about 12,000 people ran in the half marathon Sunday morning. Us runners and our families probably held a significant portion of the day's park reservations. Once the afternoon heat kicked in, there was no point in sticking around. Then about 3pm there was an alleged threat of lightning nearby, so they shut down 3/4 of the park's attractions. We left at 4pm and Main Street has never looked so empty during the day.

I was at DCA from 4 to 7 or so yesterday. Saw a 5 minute wait for Radiator Springs Racers and a 10 minute wait for Midway Mania. The Radiator Springs turned out to be a stretch. I think they were coming out of a breakdown, and then broke down again without ever restarting. But the Midway Mania time was real. I did sit through the Philharmagic to get some AC time. What you saw seemed pretty typical. There were maybe 10 people in my show. Things picked up later in the day as the sun started going down. Then I hopped to Disneyland and the crowds were noticeably larger.

I’m from AZ and am used to 100-120 degrees, but we usually spend our time indoors. We planned our trip to DL/DCA for 9/2-9/6 where it was between 98-104 and we were pretty miserable due to the heat. Ya we are used to it but we NEVER just hang out in it for 12+ hours, plus there was the humidity factor that made it worse, that we don’t have in AZ. We drank all kinds of water, had neck fans and wet towels and still had a hard time getting relief from the heat. My poor little nephew who is almost 5 got dehydrated and threw up as soon as we got off of Pirates. It’s hard to make the younger kids drink when they don’t want it. We did ride small world and pirates quite a few times and our 1 haunted mansion ride to get relief from the heat. In DCA we saw Philharmagic, turtle talk with crush and waited in line to see Elsa. We also rode Soarin and Little Mermaid a few times. When we booked our trip in June we thought we would be getting regular CA weather 75-80, gosh I would have even taken 85-90, but wow this past week was definitely a scorcher. So ya while a native Arizonian like me knows heat, we don’t choose to sit in it all day, so CA park days over 95 definitely are pretty miserable.

They need MISTERS in every queue-- not at the tail end of just the Radiator Springs Queue! They can definitely afford to upgrade the queues for the guests' comfort.
@geofferypmeyers2 ай бұрын
They really do. There’s no excuse to not have misters and fans everywhere they can just go improve the guest experience. I went to Universal Florida a couple years ago, and they had so much more design with the guests’ comfort in mind it actually made me angry that Disney had so little. I went to EPCOT in July the same year and it felt like Disney didn’t care if we literally lived or died in that concrete park. Disneyland doesn’t get as extreme weather as Florida does, but company-wide they need to do something about it. But they won’t until it starts hurting their bottom line 🫤

Good thing was that it was a dry heat. Been to WDW when the temperature felt like 99 and it was terrible, hot and sticky. There are more places with a/c to cool down than David mentioned. I originally had reservations for Monday, but then both Saturday and Sunday became available once the weather report came out. Went specifically to see World of Color One and it was great. High time for Disney make the parks more weather-resistant. Make the ride queues more sheltered from rain, sun, heat, cold, etc by moving many of them indoors or underground, and add heaters, AC, fans, misters, etc. Rise Of The Resistance and Indiana Jones are great examples of what they need to do more of.
