I cried watching this. Wu Lei's acting score maximum points. His eyes were blinking & blinking...about to cry... it's so real. The Empress is such a great lady. Zisheng, though had a tough life when young, he's also equally blessed to have the Emperor, Empress & Consort Yue who love him & take care of him as if he's their son.

I don’t think he can act .. expression so very much the same … It’s good part though … but I m not confusing his mediocre acting skills vs decent plot I read he worked hard for the role as he don’t use stuntman so in a way he makes up cuz netizens do consider even factors outside of acting. He has passion for what he does so have to give him due credit for that.

@@AdrianCHOY it's quite subjective to say whether Wu Lei can act or not. Sometimes it's the Director who said to act like this, like that. Overall, I am impressed with their acting.

@@AdrianCHOY that's kinda insane to say that THE wu lei cant act or mid act skills💀 you need to read the novel bc that's literally how ling buyi/ huo wushang act and behave. wu lei said even his friend told him that he's like another person when he was still filming this bc of how immersed he was with this character,,,

@@AdrianCHOY I can both agree and disagree! In some scenes, I feel that his acting is a bit wooden, and this could be due to a poorly written script or a director's certain vision. From the bits and pieces that I've scene in this drama, this scene in particular, I disagree with you. However, acting is subjective, and that's okay! In your opinion though, who do you think would have played this character better?

There are a few pure evil characters in this show, but Miss Luo is someone who seems to be a result of the suffering from being restrained from what she wants for her whole life. It's sad really. I think calling her pure evil may be overlooking the complexity of the character.

@@tatsumakijim she live a pretty sheltered life. The empress half heartedly promised her to marry zisheng just like the case with Princess Yucheng. But she felt more deserving because she was a "kind soft hearted good girl" modernly called "female lead wannabe syndrome". This led to her convincing herself that there was some spark between her and zisheng even though he clearly told her he does not like her and knows that she killed her husband. She still believes that the one that's preventing them to be together is Shaoshang. That may not be pure evil but straight up psycho

@@tatsumakijim besides niao niao, i liked He Zhaojun. She didn't appear as much but her transformation from a spoiled girl to a determined women who lost everything and has the guts to behead her enemy herself (in a time where women are raised up to be timid and fragile) was totally giving me goosebumps. I love seeing the hatred and loss in her eyes, the actress was fantastic. I just love her🤗 just sayin, i like discussing about the characters. Another reason why i love this drama, all the characters are so interesting
