I'm looking on relocating to Newfoundland for my MSC. I'm black and I wanted to know if there was any implication to that.

You should not worry about such things.

Newfoundland is probably the least ethnically diverse province in Canada. That being said out university is extremely diverse with students and professors coming in from around the globe and coming from many different ethnic and religious backgrounds. If there is an issue it has less to do with your skin colour/ethnicity/faith than being a "come from away" - and that would mean anyone not from the Island. But like anywhere in the world you move, it takes about two years to settle in and really find your feet and your friends. Hope you'll come. We came 9-years ago and have loved it.

Hi FressyFeels! Ask ko lang kung ilang buwan ang winter dyan po?
@lakelili3 жыл бұрын
Depending on where you are in Newfoundland & Labrador, it can start as early as October with the last snows gone by mid to end of May. The Avalon Peninsula where St John's tends to have more rain in the winter but they can really get hit by storms too. -2C to -12 is pretty normal for the Island with it getting a lot colder in Labrador. Its a great place to visit in the winter if you like outdoor activities - skiing and snowmobiling are hugely popular.

Magkanu po ba minimum wage Para sa Care Giver and Engr. newfoundiland Labrador? At pati bahay? Anu ba advantage ng province na yan sa ibang province ng Canada? Salamat po sa pag sagot Godbless po

Minimum wage in Newfoundland & Labrador rose to $12.50/hour in April 2021. Personal Care Assistants or Home Care Aides earn between about $18.50/hour and $20.80/hour. There is a high demand for these types of workers as we have an aging population.
