I got the dagger 2.0 a month ago. I've done 4 guitars so far. Also got the 16" leveling beam. These tools are top notch and super straight. Guitars play so nice and smooth now

Yea, this is a pretty good crowning file. I used a variety of affordable crowning files because I dont do fret jobs that often. The Stew Mac files were so expensive. I don't do fret work often enough to justify paying that much. I bought one of these Fret Dagger 2.0 files when they first came out. They were about $40.00 USD if I remember correctly. It worked so well the first time I used it, that I bought another. These files felt and worked so good, I had the feeling that they would go up in price once the word got into the mainstream. It's a good idea to have a brass file card or brass bristle brush to clean the file teeth between each one or two frets. One of the good things about the design, is that you can crown the frets on a set neck guitar without scuffing the finish. That's because of the tapered design. If you need a crowning file and dont want to pay SM prices, get one of these.

Im thinking about buying the fretguru 2.0 file. Is it usable on lower profile frets .036" (.91mm) crown? Jim Dunlop 6105 have a 1.5mm crown.

The Diamond Dagger is the old one I believe.
