Is it easier or harder on a fretless bass?

It is a bit harder with Fretless, with the intonation and stuff, but when you get it right, it is rewarding.

Personally I find it a lot easier. I find that on a fretted bass that pressing down hard enough to make sure the fret is properly engage super slows me down and requires far more concentration. With fretless as long as you make sure you run chromatic scales the whole length of the neck and for every starting position as your warm up every day you'll have no problem landing the note properly.
