Takes me back to 1967. The Air Force sent me to Turkey for 15 months. Of course, I took my banjo with me. Landed at the airport and the Turkish customs man said, "Play it." They wanted to make sure I wasn't bringing my banjo to Turkey to sell it. So, I took it out of the case, tuned it up and played "Cripple Creek" clawhammer-style, and then Scruggs-style. As I played about 20 people crowded in to see the American play the banjo. Well, since I had an audience, I gave them a little concert. "Wildwood Flower," "Foggy Mountain Breakdown," and a few others. Then, I put the banjo back into its case and headed out to find a taxi. I was just 21 years old back then. Thanks for playing for us!

😂 Love the story! Thanks for sharing. Funny how customs tries to think of what people might be up to. Not sure I'd want to live my life being suspect of everyone... but hey... 🤷♂️

Pheobe! I know nothing about banjo playing. I have little to no interest in banjo playing. But KZbin popped you into my recommendations and I absolutely love listening to you. I hope you don't mind me saying but as you play, your face is like a constant critique of your playing and it is helping me hear the intricacies and technicalities of banjo playing. Helps me appreciate all the hard work and craft of the instrument. Also thank you so much for repeating your recording. So annoying having to record something twice but you kept up the energy and totally delivered. Much love from Bristol, UK.

buff Orpingtons are my favorite for the disposition and being excellent yard birds with Gold laced Wyandottes as my runner up. Plymouth (barred) rock are a bit more aggressive. Not as aggressive as Rhode Island Reds or Black Australorpes... then can be down right mean. Gold lace Wyandottes are nice but Silver lace Wyandottes are bullies like Rhode Islands. Silkies are nice too and so are "Easter Egger" type Auracanas or "Americanas", they have the fluffy cheeks. Mostly its what you want to look at. They will establish a pecking order on their own terms regardless of breed.
