The problem is mobilized cohesion is not same as unit cohesion. They are different terms having separate meaning. Here every time you used unit cohesion, told as mobilized cohesion.

What is mobilized cohesion?

the amount of cohesion force that was employed. Suppose cohesive strength is 100 units. A force acts on the soil and there is requirement of 75 units of cohesion to resist this. So, only 75 units will be employed to balance the force. Hence, the mobilised cohesion is 75 units.
