You can also permanently bond friction polymers to the engine to decrease friction and wear. Wear analysis demonstrates 50~90% wear reduction i.e. 2~10x increase in engine life. :-)

All oils. It's not an additive. It's a degradation product of the lubricant at the friction point. Basically imagine the oil getting bashed about loads at the two contacting points. When this happens it can form some thick gooey sludges called friction polymers that actually become an antiwear property outside of the lubricant additive packs.
