@The Insufferable Tool but what about the Nitrogen, I don’t think it forms bonds with the iron, most likely it gets pushed out though
@benthelender Жыл бұрын
No I believe the surfaces should be flat for even heating, if it was pointed the points would heat up and start bonding but the outer edges would still be too cold for a proper join therefore the weld would be weak

Although the "often ends up in death" thing is bullshit I haven't heard of anyone dying from degloving as it usually just rips skin off + maybe some fingers.
@mtraven233 жыл бұрын
good rule for most spinning tools. I learned it the hard way on my bench grinder, tip of my glove sucked my finger into the wheel. I could see the bone & that finger is a tiny bit shorter than the rest. I do consider (and I think most agree) nitrile gloves to be acceptable. I'm not a big glove guy, but some chips are real nasty...like parting chips or end mill edge chips...nasty like sobs
@yszhang11073 жыл бұрын
I know a guy who lost two fingers when he worked on the lathe with gloves on. The spinning part caught a thread of the glove, then pulled his hand in. He did not get much compensation because of the violation.

What was the purpose of the whole friction welding with lathe when I can easily do it with GTAW or SMAW. My I missing something?
@mtraven233 жыл бұрын
to get equivalent penetration, you'd need to grind both rods to a point & then fill all that material back in. You can definitely do it, in fact I have many times...sounds like you're a welder, so I'll bet you have too. But thats a fair bit of work, gotta be careful not to over / unevenly heat the part. and you end up with a weaker joint with all sorts of stresses. I don't think friction stirred joints are totally normalize (like act-oxy welds), but pretty close. last point I'm just guessing, but I'll bet the energy input is less for the friction stir. In commercial work, thats a major consideration.

🔴 What Is Islam? ⚠️ 🔴 Islam is not just another religion. 🔵 It is the same message preached by Moses, Jesus and Abraham. 🔴 Islam literally means ‘submission to God’ and it teaches us to have a direct relationship with God. 🔵 It reminds us that since God created us, no one should be worshipped except God alone. 🔴 It also teaches that God is nothing like a human being or like anything that we can imagine. 🌍 The concept of God is summarized in the Quran as: 📖 { “Say, He is God, the One. God, the Absolute. He does not give birth, nor was He born, and there is nothing like Him.”} (Quran 112:1-4)[4] 📚 🔴 Becoming a Muslim is not turning your back to Jesus. 🔵 Rather it’s going back to the original teachings of Jesus and obeying him.
