Friday 1/8/10 : Seeing Old Dogs and Daybreakers (Around the town)

Today me and M.J went around the town to see the comedy film Old Dogs and the new horror vampire film Daybreakers and gave our reviews of the films.

Avatar is probably one of the best sci fi to come out in a while! Yes there is a lot of cgi.....but the cgi is probably the best ever done. They look like people in costumes when you see it in the theatres! Avatar is going to be nominated for best picture at the academy awards. Daybreakers was amazing but don't diss on Avatar because it is a great piece of film-making. I respect you guys but give it a chance.

I hate to say this but I actually disagree with you guys for once. I thought Avatar was actually quite good, and even though it's all CGI It's some of the best I have ever seen. yes the plot is not perfect, but there is no denying that it was a visually stunning film.

you know i love you guys :D and most of the time, i have the same opinion as you guys.. but avatar is one of the best movie i have ever seen... first of all the effects was good. the story was good.. i feel sry for you guys.. if you did not see it in 3D.. it's not the same 3D as before it's called Silversreen.. :D but anyway Daybrakers was good to :P

I love these diary documentaries and your views on films, which are similar to mine. I am avoiding Avatar for the same reason as you-too much cgi and poor story. I guess people are easily blinded by 3D. Looking forward to your next video-mike in Ireland

They stopped being friends after MJ got married and never invited or even told Shawn about it. Not too long ago, MJ and his wife returned with their own channel but like a bad tv show, it flopped after a handful of videos and I think the channel has since been deleted.

How can you say Daybreakers is better than Avatar when you haven't even seen it? :S The reason is why Avatar doesn't have "amazing cgi" is because they wanted the characters to actually have expressions and for everything to flow. Movies with over done cgi the characters just look fake and lifeless.

Daybreakers had some good cinematography and a interesting story but suffered saverely from a poor script. The real effects were good but the cgi shots were lauphably bad. The film was poor and boring and lost any type of message it tryed to convey due to poor execution. Good review though and i can understand why pepole enjoyed this film.
