Friday and Saturday as a Bus Driver

Were Back with another video look at how being a driver on Friday and Saturday compares with the rest of the week.
Friday was a hot sunny day with differently brought us some challenges with customer and how they were behaving. it's like suns out idiots come look for bus to get home when you've spend drink in a pub somewere in accrington.
Saturday we were joined later by bradley who lent a helping hand with recording big thank you for that.

It's going to be fun on the 464 from tomorrow when the electricity folks dig up the main road between Hall Street and Healey Corner yet again for the next 5 weeks (this is now an annual event). Let's hope that the traffic management folks actually do their jobs and try to keep the traffic flowing this time, instead of just sitting in their cabs playing on their smartphones while the traffic backs up for miles (grumble, grumble).. 🙄

Yea and I don't think they inform the company as we re-written the timetable for the one in haslingden but had no idea about these. I think they should fine the power company which should give everyone free tickets for the next 5 weeks.

You start on Rosso, most drivers want to move to Blackburn bus company cause there's better pay and more routes. When Blackburn Rosso had the Irwell it was probably better but it depends on what you want to do. I would like more routes but I kinda like knowing all my customers

I've wondered this for a while but what is adblue?

So it's a cleaning agent, that helps capture partials from the exhaust system before realising it into atmosphere. There a filter and injections that drip AdBlue to capture carbon particles. Diesel exhaust fluid is a liquid used to reduce the amount of air pollution created by a diesel engine. Specifically, DEF is an aqueous urea solution made with 32.5% urea and 67.5% deionized water. Hey ant, few questions here for you. What do you think of the optares as I know they are very popular with transdev but as I live down south we have mainly streetlites and e200s. Also when you start your shift how do you get cash as you have to cash in at the end of the last shift and If you need to give change you don't have any. 3 what is the procedure when you breakdown?. 4 how do you position your mirrors, is it more towards the bus or away? 5. How do you set up your next stop announcements and screens?

Wow, thank you for the questions, I will make a video about some of these if you don't mind. 1. Once you get use to the optares they are okay ( see my Opter Vs optare video) to drive, ours have some issues but mostly they safety features that drivers don't like. So the company give us £20 when we 1st beginning working for them but most drivers are encouraged to bring in an extra £30 in change such as £1/50p 20p etc. if we start to run low you just makes sure you have your original float etc ( I will make a video about it ) Mirrors are hard to explain I will make a video about it And how we set up the bus as it's kinda different for each vehicle and it's personal preference Break down again is about making sure you get the passages of safely. I can explain this in more detail in a video. Is that okay ?
