Holy moly, what a difference in feeling. I am opposite to my Mom who was the definition of discipline, will power, maintenance, all those words just remind me of something I'm not or don't have. I love the thought of changing to devotion. I can substitute devotion for all three of those seemingly unattainable words. Love love

Love the idea of replacing the word discipline with ‘devotion.’ For me devotion sparks a feeling of love and dedication- both words are less straining than what sparks with ‘discipline’ such as restriction, tension, etc.

What a great word switch! Devotion feels like a loving promise. Discipline feels black/white no grey and potentially harsh.

Disciple feels more 'masculine' and devotion more 'feminine'. But the idea of viewing my major life change with devotion rather than discipline feels so much better and so much more positive.

I’m so excited! 18:24 when we overcome our past challenges, we can become stronger for today’s challenges and trust ourselves more! 26:33 a lot of creatives are messy. I am messy… and married a clean freak 😅. We balance each other out. But my makeup is a problem too, and I don’t have that much at all! 33:13 that clicked with planner things. Being devoted to ones planner and novel writing is better than discipline. That made lots of pieces in my head click into place. Thank you.

Hi! Regarding organizing, have you ever taken the clutterbug organizing test? She differentiates people into visual or not, detailed or not. I use the same organizer you do! Because I'm a visual, detailed organizer. Understanding my organizing type has carried over into so many other areas of my life. It's all about finding the style and thought process that works for you, like writing. It's just finding your personal thumbprint.
