Harriers are one of my favorites, I’m hoping to head out on a marsh trail in my hometown to look for some soon. Thanks for the lovely video, your filming and narration are great!

I have two breeding in my yard for the last two weeks, everyone has noticed them including my dogs. They sit on top of the trees calling each other. It’s very interesting.

My favorite as well. I have a great photo series of a female, sitting at our "lunch counter" (bird feeder) here in Lower Michigan waiting for some small critter to venture out looking for seeds that the smaller birds have spilled. A fearless chickadee sits in the background. Have you ever noticed that when temperatures drop below about 10-15˚F or -10-12˚C the Marsh Hawks (I prefer the old name) quit cruising for the hunt and pick a high perch to watch over a large open area. I theorize that when it gets too cold, the frigid air blowing through their feathers while cruising costs more calories than the success difference between cruising-hunting and perch-hunting. Either way, they usually finish the hunt with a rather awkward short chase on the ground. My favorite vision is of a male flying alongside my window for several hundred yards/meters as I drove at 30-40 mph (50-65 kph) along a country road near our home. Needless to say, that is one picture I couldn't photograph.

Saw my first Harriers today and stumbled across your video, instantly subscribed! Beautiful content and narration. The note about not photographing their nests was particularly moving.

Kate - thanks for this lovely video! I saw two NHarrier's in flight, there was an approaching storm. I usually see only one but this time there were two. Something different. FYI, I live in Northern Utah close to the Idaho border.

Thanks for watching! And sharing your sighting - the young here are just learning to fly so I might see a few flying - but it’s often only one or two! But they’re such beautiful birds!

I saw one yesterday (shrub steppe in central Washington state) and was captivated by its twisty flying, very maneuverable. I found this video looking for more.

Thank you for watching Marylee and ethical bird watching and photography is my main focus - what I’m all about - but sadly so mainly photographers choose a great “money” shot over a happy subject! Respect for wildlife always comes first with me. 😊🙏❤️👊
