4 years on a low-fat diet, no nuts and seeds,no oil clean vigan, my fatty liver got worse, my cvd got worse. The liver needs healthy fats to work properly . The last time i had a soda was 20 years ago.

I was recently hospitalized for almost a month due to an autoimmune disease. I also have type 2 diabetes which was exasterbated by the complications of the disease and treatments. I started losing weight in the hospital from not eating as much abd eating a lot more healthy. I am continuing to eat more healthy because of my diabetes management. No snacking between any meals and cutting way back on sugars and carbs. Because My kidneys were attacked mostly by my disease, I have to watch my sodium intake as well. I try to have some sort of salad with one or more of my meals every day. It helps fill me up and i really enjoy them. I am healing pretty fast with all of the nutrition I am getting from my diet, and low bad sugars, and low sodium unprocessed foods. My disease is vasculitis, which is inflammation in my blood vessels. I am lucky to be alive as it almost destroyed my kidneys and made my lungs bleed. My lungs are fully repaired and my kidneys are now at 90% of what they were. I will be on treatment for at least a year to put the disease in full remission. In the meantime, I will stick to making even healthier choices than ever to keep me at my very best! I suggest everyone else does too, and stop smoking immediately if you do. If I had been a smoker and heavy drinker, I wouldn't have had a chance to survive what I went through! Please don't abuse your body, you may need the extra reserve like I had that made a big difference for me. Dr. Greger is a very good and caring man who has taught me a lot. I suggest everyone should listen and follow him! God bless you Dr. Greger for your dedication of this channel to help people!

How about the doctor's earlier video on a the benefits of a teaspoon of ginger in hot water every day for getting rid of fatty liver?

I’m 6ft 115lbs and never drank alcohol, but my liver enzymes keep going higher. My doc ruled out a bunch of rare diseases that could be causing it. I’m waiting to get an ultrasound now. I eat mostly WFPB with 60-70g fiber per day, and staturated fat less than 10g per day. I don’t know what’s going on.

Even children today have signs of artery disease. Fast foods and sugary drinks have long term consequences. There is an obesity epidemic today where over 60% of the population is overweight or obese. What is common today and "NORMAL" is not healthy. The average person today is not healthy and is taking medications. Heart attacks were once only common in people over 65. Today people in their 40 are having heart attacks. Add more plants and vegetables to your diet and less junk and overly processed foods Get off the couch. Get off the iphone or ipad. Get up and go for a walk, run, bike ride , garden, work outside. Move more, sit less.

So we have to eat low fat, but also low sugar, which means essentially low carb, since carbohydrates convert to sugar in the bloodstream. How do you restrict both micronutrients without feeling terrible? And on top of that, he advocates for relatively low protein and no animal products. I'm sorry but put this all together and you are absolutely on a path to malnutrition and starvation mode.

Your statement reflects your naive and ignorant knowledge of human physiology. Carbohydrates are not equivalent to "sugar" and if you had education in this area you would understand this. Greger has had years of physiology education, knowledge, and expertise . . .yet you know more and better than him? What an ignoramus you are.

Love you videos. Does saturated fat from plants like coconut milk have the same effect on the body as animal fat? Thank you.

I don't exactly agree with the broad statement that higher fat containing meals (no % of calories given or grams mentioned in the video specifically) reduce insulin sensitivity to a clinically meaningful degree. The type of fat like matters more such as saturated or unsaturated. For example Imamura et al 2016 meta-analyzed 102 randomized controlled trials and showed polyunsaturated fat when replacing carbohydrates reduced HOMA-IR a metric for measuring insulin resistance, so people became more insulin sensitive with PUFA.

Dr. Gregor is making an appearance in an upcoming movie called A44, by youtuber (and now director) Chris Cooney aka The Vegan Zombie. He'll be playing a school teacher. I just watched the trailer and got an awesome surprise when Dr Gregor was in it. Just thought that was fun and wanted to spread the word.

When my dad died from aortic dissection I checked his b12 and it was one he had with water not disolve in the mouth I think this led to his heart attack as he was eating whole food plant based vegan no fish or any animals with list of fruits and vegetables but I don’t think he ate beans his nails went black after he died I think It must have been the wrong type of b12 as it may not have been absorbed as well in the lower gut also he may have caught salmonella (norovirus) poisoning from me eating watermelon which I thought I was dying from and maybe he caught this from me and that increased his heart attack he wasn’t having dha epa omega 3 maybe that also increased his heart attack risk. Also he died the day the clocks changed so maybe as he was waking up at 4am every day for work cycling 30 miles there and back on top of the deficiency of b12 caused him to collapse as he said his legs went numb the day before he died.

Plant-based diets are overrated. We need more grass fed grass finished beef another stuff like wild caught fish in her diet vegetables have a lot of oxalate in them, especially spinach and kale.🤦🏼

Wild fish with all the pollutants in them? Grass fed beef with all the toxic chemicals created when its' cooked? Along with the excess animal protein, promoting chronic kidney diseases. As well as eating beef being a missed opportunity to eat something healthier, such as something with dietary fibre. Complete nonsense to say that vegetables have high oxalate levels. The vast majority of vegetables are so low in oxalates that they could be eaten all day with no adverse effects from oxalates. And it's a case of looking at the typical American or UK diet (or whatever country you live in). Where there are cultural norms resulting in bad eating and drinking habits. With the cultural norm being that unprocessed plant based foods are severely lacking. As well as junk drinks being consumed too much.

The only grass fed grass finished meat is meat from WILD animals, anything else is a marketing ploy as far as sustainability is concerned.
