Intimate Partner Violence is a huge problem in our Muslim community where the community has failed the victims, & push them back into these relationships placing them & the children involved at risk of emotional, psychological, physical harm. This must be addressed rather than simply sweeping these issues under the rug, & invalidating the hurt & not taking account of the perpetrator? Asking the victim to forgive is one thing, but what is being done in terms of the abuser? How would the victim be protected from the abuser? So that abuse doesn’t go on?
