Boyfriend might have been able to escape from MX, but you can't run from Sonic.EXE. I decided to check out the new "GAME OVER but it's Lord X Remake" mod to see what changed. It now matches the quality of the original MX game over mod so I thought I'd include a side-by-side comparison too. I'm surprised they made the ending for Sonic game over much cooler than MX's game over. I really love how Girlfriend pops out to save Boyfriend at the end. GF and BF sprites look so cool too. This mod is just as amazing as the FNF Burning Mockup Animation playable mod.

This is so much high in quality for a remake of MX's Game Over track. I like how the overall animation gives more emphasis on running than to just jump from second to second in MX version. And the final addition of BF almost getting killed and later getting saved by GF appearing from a giant ring is so canon to Lord X' PC Port cutscene, where Tails gets killed in the same fashion. Plus the overall transition from Sonic turning around to BF and slowly revealing Lord X is just so smooth, not to mention the same when delivering dialogues like "Too Slow!"

I personally would say they are both good. However, MX gets the edge for me for one reason. In the Lord X version, BF stands up to X directly, while he hides from MX. maybe it’s just because BF has gone up against more spooky Sonic’s than Mario’s. I also think they both are very accurate to Mario ‘85 and Sonic PC port respectively.

Dude that mid transformation (1:04), look like the early design of Lord X in Sonic.EXE mod, like way before, in V1, where his fur looks pretty pale and the skin as well, OUhhh and his feet, his feet are red. Where his final transformation (1:23) looks is the one that we all familiar with. The more darker fur, more gruesome smile and dark feet

I like the version with Lord X more, because during the transformation it has a screamer for a millisecond, also when in the third person he says "Too slow", in his voice, no matter how it sounds, there was a more grandfatherly voice acting (hah, funny fact, when I heard, I immediately thought of a pig merchant from Cuphead, who had a similar voice when saying "Goodbye") (although Mario actually turned out pretty well too)
