I personally think this mod follows the idea that Exe is possessing Sonic and in the first part as well as the first part in this persons YCR, who Boyfriend started singing with was actually the real Sonic afterwards Exe reveals himself to be possessing the Hedgehog. This would also explain why Boyfriend would keep singing and not instantly run away. (That's to assume that Boyfriend wasn't with Girlfriend.) I also like to believe that Exe wants Sonic to see what "Games" he is tricking Boyfriend into playing as well as see what he's done to Sonic's friends which is torturing Sonic mentally and almost physically. I picture at the start Boyfriend is standing in pitch black surrounded by nothing until the actual Sonic appears, bloody and kneeling down on one knee barely able to keep himself up as well as sporting the most tramatized and fearful look on his face and begins their small talk. I'd assume Sonic was begging BF to run immediately or get help from BF, unfortunately he doesn't listen and Exe takes control of Sonic.

Here's what I think happens in Too Slow [LORE], or as I like to personally call it: ''INDOLENT''. 0 - BF appears in Angel Island - Act 2, and finds S0NlC to be standing there. 1 - S0NlC starts singing, trying to intice BF to think he's the real Sonic, but BF sees through somehow. 2 - He gives up faking and reveals his true self. 2.5 - He laughs and starts singing rapidly, giving BF a sense of urgency. 3 - He says ''I'M GONNA GETCHA! I AM.... GOD.... *Devilish Laughter*. 4 - He sings again for like 2 seconds. 4.5 - Then he says ''THIS IS STARTING TO GET A LITTLE BORING.'' and BF starts to feel rushed and starts failing to keep up. 5 - BF ultimately outsmarts SONIC.EXE and screams in anger as he teleports BF to a destroyed hidden palace zone. This leads to YOU CAN'T RUN [LORE], or as I like to call it ''UNABLE TO PROCEED''. (If i got anything wrong, feel free to correct me)
