This mod is very interesting. The story behind it definitely feels like something Eggman would legitimately do. But something that's actually interesting is that you can see that Eggman is sad too. It is most likely because of the fact that he never wanted to end Sonic. It was always about the chase... never the catch. In fact he never wanted to end anybody.

You can tell this is dark when even Eggman is sad. After all, despite all he's done Eggman's never *explicitly* gone out of his way to just *kill* someone (Modern Eggman/Sonic Game Eggman, not the Robotnik from comics because that version ACTUALLY went to such lengths) despite how many times he's been defeated, one could even dare say that he's grown to see Sonic as some sort of twisted rival. He's never even gone as far as to harm the animals that he puts inside the machines, and despite that all he accepted the losses and went on to his next plot, only to just snap after all of the pain he's forced himself and Sonic to go through just because he can't live without their odd on and off friendship. His face in the song just shows that he regrets it too after returning to his senses, and the fact that he just made an *8 year old boy see the dead bodies of his only family.* He clearly didn't want it to end like this, and despite his regrets he can't go back, and despite his regrets he *definitely* can't make the now forever scarred boy he once knew go back, it's like the relationship with Batman and Joker, the only fun was in the chase and the 'friendship', never to *actually* end each other.

assuming the story, after countless losses Eggman started developing an extra "anger issue" after sonic taunted him after so many years, He finally loses it. killing sonic with his badniks,then shadow,knuckles,Mighty,Amy,Ray. but he then calmed down, tails so happens to just be walking by and finds all of his friends dead. "no. no NO!, this cant be!, what have you done!?" tails says, with a panicked look. the doctor doesn't respond, tails keeps looking at what was left of his friends, after that, he finally loses it too, ripping his own eyeballs out while still crying of what was all of his friends. the doctor looks over all of the corpses and tails,Eggman realizing what hes done, killing the one who strangely made him find joy and happiness, a rival for countless generations, now gone. hes also just traumatized and made a child go insane. a really interesting mod with lore.

It all seemed so pointless now. Just then, he was startled by the sounds of bushes being moved. He turned around to see a happy young familiar fox coming out with a basket full of food and snacks for himself and his friends. Tails immediately stood still in silence as his eyes stared at the bodies as if they were stuck. Eggman watched as the young fox's face fell in horror and disbelief. He knew that look. He had seen it before, in the eyes of his own victims. Tails slowly turned to face Eggman, tears streaming down his face. "Why?" he whispered. "Why did you do this?" Eggman had no answer. He hung his head in shame, unable to meet the young fox's gaze. He had done terrible things, and he knew that he could never make up for the pain he had caused. But perhaps he could try to make amends, in some small way. "I... I'm sorry," he said, his voice hoarse with emotion. "I know that sorry isn't enough, but... I'll do whatever it takes to make things right. I promise." Tails looked at him skeptically, but there was a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "Okay," he said, his voice quiet but determined. "We'll hold you to that." And so, Dr. Eggman began his journey of redemption. It was a long and difficult road, but he was determined to make amends for his past mistakes. Tails just smiled at him, the sound of grass rustling as he stood up. "Come on, let's head back. Sonic wouldn't want us to be stuck in our emotions and past." Dr. Eggman stood up as well, the two of them walking side by side as they made their way back to their home. It was a small moment, but it felt like the start of something bigger.
