Friday Night in the Castro - GMCLA and Friends

For two days, the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles celebrated its 35th anniversary in Walt Disney Concert Hall, performing "I Am Harvey Milk" by Andrew Lippa, with 300 singers from gay men's choruses from across America. It was the largest gathering of choreographed singers in the history of Disney Hall.

I played violin for the Denver Gay Men's Chorus earlier in July! Actually moved to L.A. later that month too, just a few days after this happened! Some of the guys in the chorus told me this was happening, and I was so sad the timing wouldn't work for me to join in this celebration as well! Such a fantastic piece, and a fun group to be a part of :)

Thanks for your interest! Walt Disney Concert Hall is famous for its unamplified acoustics. Trying to capture that live, vibrant sound is literally impossible, as this clip attests. What you hear is the official audio as it was captured by sound technicians at Disney Hall. Regrettably, that's as good as the sound gets.
