I am dreadful at mixing up my fronts and backs with gingham, no matter how organised I think I am at marking them up. However I now see that there is reversible double gauze in different sized gingham which may be my answer. And your buttons are definitely the star of the show. Enjoy your social and I wish I lived close enough to attend.

I would take the sleeves out partly, cut around the top on the shoulder and then re-attach using your overlocker. That will bring in the shoulder

Yes I think personally the dress is just to big which is why the elastic change hasn’t changed how I feel x

Oh Bec your Hope dress is absolutely STUNNING! I've seen this Lady McElroy fabric online and have never been sure about it because of the photos but now I've seen it as your Hope dress I can see how saturated the colours are and how beautiful the ring actually is. Lady McElroy is one of my favourite fabric designers for apparel and the quality is just simply superb. I think you'll get so much wear from that Hope dress. The other two dresses will be equally as gorgeous!

For marking trouser front and backs I recommend you place a safety pin on each front leg while they are still on the cutting table. I don't remove them until assembly is complete. Much easier than constantly trying to find my disappearing chalk marks and safety pins don't stab me.

Love your Hope dress. I made a toile in calico of the top to check the size but found it fitted very high [so just below the bust] I think I'm going to try the V neck version but the button one looks great on you. I'll wait to hear your reviews on all 3 though. Plus I agree with other comments - your buttons look amazing!! Maybe you should do something with detailed seams in plain fabrics so you get some joy out of working with plain. I'm the opposite LOL - I love plain fabrics!

Yes finishing my versions off tomorrow so hopefully vlog will be out on Wednesday 😊 I like the way plains look, they are essential 😂 but I just don’t get the enjoyment I do with patterned, I am going to be making some plain green wide leg pants soon and that one will be a more intricate make so might enjoy it…. We shall see x

@@whatbecsews i have looked there in the past but not recently. i should check again. i think when i was hunting a few months ago i only found it at shops that charged like 50 pounds for shipping and i decided i didn't need it that badly. 😆
