Trish, I FULLY understand your back problems! For me, it was running the weed wacker that screwed up my back! I finally did some yoga yesterday morning and I felt almost 100% better yesterday and today. So you might think of giving that a try. And about getting your sew-jo back, just sew something very easy to ease yourself back into sewing once again. I was feeling that way and just yesterday, I made myself a ‘thrifted sheet’ pair of everyday shorts and it felt wonderful to run the sewing machine again! Looking forward to doing more! I also splurged and bought myself a dress form (in my size!) and will be using it to more easily adjust sewing patterns where needs to be adjusted. Take care of yourself, our bodies are not what they used to be, believe me!!! LOL. Have a great week in getting your sew-jo back!

Hi Trish. First of all, those patterns are now on my want list!!! You have excellent taste 😉😊. How can anyone resist buying fabric or patterns when in a store! It's so weird as when I used to shop for clothes I could walk in so many stores and out again without buying anything 🤣. Glad you have finished your sewing station and you will more time now School is back. Talking about backs, hope yours sorts itself out soon but hey, if the hammock eases the pain then go for it 😂. Carole I finally got my back sorted out, then I had my hubby help me move the ironing station up the stairs and he threw his back out! We are a hot mess!! I am bringing some destash patterns for you girls to go through when we get together! Im so excited, we are going to have fun!!!

I knit and sew, sometimes I lose my mojo on all of it..so I have a craft bin..various stuff in it. Today, I made magnets..yippee! I am going to cut out a winter nitegown in the next few days. Have a lot of nice flannel, gets cold here in the Pacific Northwest, need those snuggly gowns. Just an FYI, 43 days till fall, 4 9 till Hocus Pocus 2 comes out! Yippee! Love fall and winter. We have so many fires in the summer around us, that all I smelled for days was smoke. The grass is dying, fire is at extreme level, so summer is not a whole lot of fun for me. Plus having heart surgery next month, so tests out the ying yang..who can go anywhere? You will get your mojo back, just other things on your list right now, and with back issues, who can sew?!

Glad your back is feeling better. Your ironing station will be wonderful. I think we all have the issue of buying patterns & fabrics with the best intentions, then keep doing it when we see something else. We call that squirreling, lol. A close sewing friend told me that buying fabric & patterns is a different hobby than sewing. I have to agree, lol. I met some sewsisters from other states in July for a long weekend & before I left I matched a bunch of patterns & fabric together. I hope that helps me sew them up. Your adventures with your son sound fun! I'm not a gardener at all, but think that hydroponic gardening looks great & may be something I can actually do outside & even inside here in Chicago.

The hudto makes gardening so easy. Here in Florida I have to water my plants and dirt almost daily but with Hydro I will only have to check the water every couple weeks.WINNING!!!

You are always fun, whether you’ve sewn or not. Your ironing station is a big project, so give yourself credit for the time spent. Sometimes, if I haven’t been in my sewing room for awhile, I have to re-group and organize my thoughts and plans. BUT, no shame in hammock time…you’ve earned it! 😎

Hey Trish, I love that McCall’s pattern. Make it first! Please please. I think buying patterns and growing your fabric stash is smart 🧐… kinda like putting on fat to get through the winter. So, you know about doing a rain dance… how about a “pumpkin spice/bring on Fall” dance. (Your pumpkin spice pack will make a great maraca!)

I am so with you Trish so ready, and waiting for cooler weather, in Ontario, Canada, its just too hot to sew. I did the same thing I bought some ribbing from a second hand store and washed it and put it away. Looked at my material, but have to get ready to go away to our trailer for a month instead. I also have a sore leg and you sound just like me. A older family member is sick in the hospital and another is awaiting for operation. We also have a new baby coming in December, my sister's first grandchild, its going to be a girl they had the baby reveal today! Why I telling you all this Trish is nuts! Its that kind of day, I am going to watch you again! Lol

Hi Trish, I'm reaching out from Michigan to slap you; now you can reach out and slap me back because we're in the same boat!😅😃. I have all kinds of fabric and patterns just waiting to be paired up and cut out, but no motivation to get started. I have a dress on my dress form that just need the pockets sewn on and the hem, but there it sits going on 3 weeks now. Between grandkids and family life, I seem to seek out my hammock quite a bit!! If not that, then the swing on my deck (it flattens to a bed for a nice afternoon nap😴 ) hmmmmmm...I remember my dad saying he got LESS done in retirement than when he was working......seems to be true for me. Hang in there I'm sure we'll get our sew jo back again soon.
