Scott gurgling on his own blood too. It's kind of more gruesome, but not really by today's standards lol. And when you think of some of the kills.. Sandra and Jeff would've taken longer to die from that wound. If I ever got to direct a slasher film I think people would go crazy from never wanting to fall asleep again. If I directed it, Ginny would've came in to find them barely alive with Jeff paralyzed, unable to get up and Sandra to weak to pull the spear out. Ginny tries but Jason enters the room and pulls the spear out and stares at Ginny as he uses it to pierce them both once again through the chest as Ginny screams.

I almost jumped back as I was watching it, because I've have seen this movie so many times throughout my life and all a sudden something happened that I had never seen before. It blew my mind. What makes these deaths so much more effective and brutal isn't just the extra blood/gore, Steve Miner directed these scenes to really focus on the character's lives draining from their bodies. The way Alice becomes instantly brain dead after getting stabbed in the head ACK! Sick, twisted stuff that really would have elevated and made the film even darker.

Unfortunately I think the negative for the uncut kills doesn't exist anymore. This vhs footage is all we have of them but it's still a treat to actually see them. Maybe I'm wrong and they end up finding the actual movie reel and release Part 2 completely uncut. That would be pretty awesome.

I still can't believe it took all these years for someone to get the uncut footage from Carl Fullerton. Greg Nicotero said in Crystal Lake Memories that Carl showed him tape of the footage so he obviously knew he had it all along. Yet it was a last minute addition to a boxset 10 plus years later before we finally saw it. Oh well it least we got it and thanks for the work on this restoration!

Modern AI, restorative, and upscaling tools could ABSOLUTELY be used on those missing frames and moments to cut them into the 4K masters of the films and make the image quality virtually seamless. Having all of the surrounding frames and shots there that ARE in pristine condition, and then having the lower quality footage there...would give an AI tool a "baselines" to begin with(The low quality uncut frames) and a "target" to mimic and shoot for(All of the pristine frames before and after the uncut frames) and I bet people would be SHOCKED at how good it could all work. We COULD have "Uncut" versions of most, if not all, of these films "manufactured" with modern AI restorative tools.

After seeing the footage I'm even more pissed off at the MPAA than I was before. The only scenes I can kind of see a reason to cut are Scott's death, because that is just an insane amount of blood, and Deputy Winslow's death because that too is a fairly decent amount of blood. Alice's death has almost no blood, if any, if there is any I can't see it. Ralph's death is really just an extended shot of what was already there, if there is more blood as before I can't see it. Mark's death is just a longer more up close shot of the machete in his face, which is already in the movie just shortened. Jeff and Sandra's death, the holy grail of lost scenes, hasn't got that much blood. You see some around the spear, and some splatter as Sandra's reacting to it, the best part of the scene IMHO, but nothing too crazy. And Vicky's death, don't get me started on Vicky's. Aside from the extended shot of her cut on the leg why the hell was her reaction shot shortened? You already see the blood on her lip in the movie, so what was so bad about her extended reaction that warranted it getting cut? I see the decisions the MPAA made regarding this movie as nothing more than payback for them letting the first movie skate by unscathed. A mistake that they made by the way. It's just absurd. These are great makeup effects, and Carl Fullerton has every right to be proud of the work he did on this movie. IMO, and I'm sure this won't be a popular one, these effects blow the effects of the first movie right out of the water, and I'd even rank them as some of the best the franchise as a whole has to offer. I'm glad we all finally have a chance to see what should have been in the movie all along, and after seeing these deaths, a lot of them that used to be very low down on my list of best kills in the franchise have now catapulted right to the top. Alice's death especially used to be one of the lamest, and now it's one of my favorites. Screw the MPAA!

My guess for Vickie's cut death scene is the way the camera pans to Jeff's dead body. The way he looks is grim. The mpaa were also on a witch hunt in general for slashers around this time

Richard Heffner was a tyrant and he wanted the arrow through Kevin Bacon's throat in the first film OUT. It went on several submissions with an "X" rating before the rest of the board overruled him and gave it an "R" with the side-angle shot of that still included. He was seethingly angry. Suffice it to say, he got his way with this one. After several attempts on Miner's part to send it back to them with some trimming of the shots, Heffner finally clapped back with the gist of, "Take every fucking frame of the spear in the back out or you're getting another X." As for the blood splashing in the face, that was another "Heffner hangup." Some of the other scenes had spurting blood (always a Heffner "no-no.") The rest were collateral damage. And Paramount and the Mancusos ruined this one every bit as much as the MPAA did. Marta was half-naked, she was an emancipated minor -- and they were livid.

The only death I feel actually benefited from being cut is Mark’s death. I just love how it is edited and cut in the theatrical version. The other extended deaths should have stayed in. It really sucks that the MPAA forced them to remove these great kills. Part 2 is still a really great horror movie even with it being heavily censored. I think it’s very suspenseful, has great characters, one of the best final girls ever, some spooky scenes, and Jason looks pretty creepy with his bag mask.

I don't know if you're up for it, but Harry Manfredini released the "Friday The 13th Part 2 (The Ultimate Cut)" and it includes all of the original kill music made for the uncut scenes. I was pretty stoked when I realized - I did do some quick edits with the original footage with the music - but I'm not very good at the sound effects like you are!

Scott’s, Jeff and Sandra’s were freakin’ brutal. Scott’s blood was just a trickle in the edited version, this version of the original is disturbing

Whatever was the source material for Carl's VHS (I think it was an interpositive), the scenes were edited clean -- at least before Carl tape-sliced 'em together. It was definately not a workprint. Thus, that is the way the film was going to go out. That being said, I agree the bloody face shots of Marta look much better edited next to each other (less of a jump cut with the blood splashing on the face twice). But I can't say I agree with the rest of the editorial decisions here. Bare minimum, the 2nd zoom-in shot of the head in the fridge needs to be included -- Harry Manfredini scored to it. Would love to see this done again, as is. The restored foley sounds great. Just needs "Jeff!" added in at 2:50.

Friday 2 is an all time favorite of mine... nearly perfect just the way it is. That said, I will also say... MORE GORE! MORE GORE! MORE GORE! MORE GORE! I seriously hope we get some "directors cut" or "special edition" of ALL the F13 flicks... especially pt7 (justice for JCB!)... with all the extended scenes, even if they can't match the rest of the film regarding visual fidelity... I care very little about that. Hopefully some time before I die? Maybe? I've only been a huge fan since the early 1980's, and supported every F13 film ever... no big.

Great footage.....do they also have uncut footage from Part 3? I heard there was 2 alternative endings where Jason beheads Chris at the end of the movie.
