@lisarhoades97154 жыл бұрын
Your matter of fact honesty is one of the many reasons I tune in to your channel. Loved the video this week. Something about watching a person use a P-Touch and get organized is so satisfying. In regards to food, when I was single I shopped for two weeks at a time and ate at my leisure. I am a vegetarian and my husband is not, so most times there are two separate meals on the table for dinner. This was one of the hardest things to compromise when I married. I admit some days I don't want to deal with meal prep or grocery shop (even on line).

We’re all different which is what makes us interesting. I love cleaning and organizing, hate cooking. As a gluten free health food vegan I keep my fridge full of prepped fruit, vegees, beans, etc. I assemble them in a bowl, top with tahini, spices, etc and that’s my meal. Looove my Vitamix, can make a mean smoothie bowl.

My family are big foodies and they never could understand why I simply eat to live. This relationship I have with food is almost a taboo to them as if it is an eating disorder. For me, its buying the same set of clothes because having a "uniform" means spending lesser time fussing on what to wear everyday. Same goes for food. I will eat what is available and most comforting or safest so I don't have to spend time fussing over what to eat. Its not a disorder or a "trend". Its just a lifestyle choice.

I’ve eliminated many, many foods from my diet and that’s really helped me, I’m happy to eat only a small variety of foods and feel good. I have tips to get rid labels. For example, on glass jar, so it won’t scratched. 1. Use hairdryer to heat the label. Don’t get too close or the label paper might burn. 2. It can be easily pealed if it heated enough. 3. If you still have residue traces, rub it with cajuput oil. I have easy access ro cajuput oil, sorry I don’t have alternative option. 4. Then you can wash the jar. I use this trick for book covers or dust jacket with price label.

I love to eat, I really enjoy food in that way, but cooking is the bane of my life and I really couldn’t care less what other’s eat. I think a lot of the obsession as it manifests on the Internet is aspirational - people, probably unconsciously, want to emulate everything ‘insert influencer’s name here’ does in the hope that they might achieve what they see as a ‘perfect life’. I think many humans have always done this in some way or another- imitation is how we learn from our parents initially, we are taught to obey certain rules and customs etc. I think it’s just a continuation of that. Okay I’ll stop waffling now! I love your nice calm looking organised fridge and I hope the throat is better soon.

You probably have a much healthier relationship to food than a lot of people, myself included, as you see it as a necessity of life. Like a lot of people I know, I often think about food too much, both in terms of health and consequences on my looks, which is terrible thinking, and in terms of daily maintenance; what are we going to buy? What are we going to cook? And most of the time, because I can't be bothered cooking, cleaning up and tidying up afterwards, I end up not eating well anyway, which is ironic given the amount of thought I put towards it! I love your fridge organisation. My partner refuses me to organise it, cause he likes the chaos! Good thing he's the one who does most of the cooking...

I wish our recycling in the UK was as good as in Sweden. We recycle a lot now, such as plastic containers and bottles, cans, glass, paper, even food waste. And garden waste is collected for composting and reuse in parks etc. But it is almost impossible to recycle all the soft plastic packaging that is used to wrap many supermarket products (fresh food or household items), clothing ordered online, and many other things. Most of this still goes into our general waste and landfill. 😔

I switch containers with my H&B supplies, i.e. shampoo, conditioner, scrub, body wash, etc. It just looks cleaner that way. Glass containers in the tub isn't the safest though. I use clean, dry single serve plastic milk bottles for pourables and plastic grocery tubs (guacamole, fresh sliced fruit, etc.) for thicker products like lotion/cream. When I started this new habit, I forgot about labeling and used what I had on hand which was some adhesive wallpaper scraps cut to label size and a black Sharpie.

I feel the same about cooking and eating as you...the only thing I require about food is, that it be healthy and nutritious.

I thank you. I will no longer feel ashamed of my lack of interest in cooking. When I am asked what I like to cook, I will say, "Nothing, really. But I enjoy decanting and labeling the foods that I do not cook."

Defenetly the best "smart and nice organisation" that I've ever seen 👍🙏 😉

I love the jar idea for condiments, but curious as to why you didn’t put the Grey Poupon in one? Did you run our of clear jars? Your videos have really helped me in my attempt to minimize my life. My two daughters have graduated from college now and starting a new phase for myself and husband. Would love to visit Sweden one day in the future. Thank you for your videos. Love your cats…

I did run out and have added it in a jar now.

A uncluttered fridge. So much easier to clean☺️. Very zen to look at.

Benita, thank you for your refreshing honesty. It is such a relief, in a subculture that judges people upon food choices. I say that as an avid and enthusiastic cook. I love your videos, with their unexpected take on so many lifestyle issues.

Your fridge looks great! (And this reminds me it's time for a deep clean.) I understand how IBS could take away your enjoyment of food, particularly when so many of the problem foods are those that add so much flavour (onions, garlic, mushrooms etc).

So clean and fresh looking 👍🏻. If I can use one pan for cooking great, but when it comes to 3 pans I loose interest. Get well soon Benita 💕x.

I have a roommate and he's horribly messy and a packrat. I've given up sharing a fridge with him because he never throws out his old take away food items and complains when I clean it out that I throw too much away. I decided to buy a compact, college dorm style fridge for my bedroom. Considering how messy my roommate is, I'm tempted to make a little kitchenette in my room so I can avoid dealing with his mess all over the house. Watching your videos is my escape from the massive irritation he causes me daily. I too can't stand seeing labels but never thought of rehoming food items in uniform containers and relabeling. Seeing your shelves at the end was visually soothing. Btw, I couldn't find your Amazon link to the label maker.

Benita, where do you get the larger plastic (?) organizers for your fridge? I mean the one at least I can see on one of the shelves of your fridge. Thanks.
@BenitaLarsson4 жыл бұрын
I’ve had them for years, they came from an old workplace originally so I don’t have a source unfortunately.
