Miss Brenda, You are making one of my favorite things. Makes fond memories of my Mother making fried pies. You use the same term of "make a 'stif' dough ", is how Mother described her dough. I had a hard time understanding that word w dough. I was used to my parents & grandparents complain in the morns about stiff knees & hips.lol oh my, I miss my Mother but I have you as a friend, cooking same way as she did.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge of cooking and most of all your love of Christ. I love fried apple pies but my favorite is fried peach pies. I learned to make these from my daddy's two older sisters. They taught me a lot about early 1920's country cooking which they learned from their momma (my grandmother was born in the late 1890's) and I love to cook that way and eat it too.
