guys,he made it because so many of YOU asked it! he did the whole shebang,all the options you could ask,price is just right.
@JB543797 жыл бұрын
Price is just right???? The price is crazy, especially since Friedman has a company, that builds many amp brands, building his amps. Mesa Boogie IMO is more custom than Friedman but Mesa Boogie keeps them at a decent price and builds their amps in house. If Dave would realize lowering his prices would sell 10 times the amps then his profits would increase even more over these high top end prices. Most will not pay new prices for these amps and in return Dave sells much lower volume than if they were priced slightly lesser.
@JB543797 жыл бұрын
No idea what his costs are now but definitely not close to what he is charging, if it was it would be no sense in being in business. That is how businesses work though. Friedmans selling is overall fairly low IMO. It may be good enough for Dave but IMO slightly lower pricing to sell much more volume would actually equal more profits over higher prices and lower volume sales. Either way it's Dave's decision. If he wants to stay with the "boutique" pricing and is happy with his profits then that is up to him.
@JB543797 жыл бұрын
My recommendations are just as much knowledge as your statements since you do not seem to have any knowledge of his amps either to disprove anything I have stated, etc... You just seem to be a defender of super high prices for some reason. Others do all Friedman is doing in house for cheaper prices and that includes MESA BOOGIE. I do know that overall amps are pretty basic components other than a few things. Yes, production, headshells, combos, speakers, labor costs, etc.. are mega costs factors but I know for a fact that for what Dave is charging he is making mega off of every amp. Just thinking he could make even more with a slight price decrease, which would mean way more sales. Like I stated before, it's his choice.
@JB543797 жыл бұрын
As you are defending prices you know nothing about the actual costs. I at least do know basic amp costs. Friedman and his dealers are making a ton off those mega high prices. Either way, enjoy your thinking and defending of Friedmans "boutique" prices but production build amps. I'm not one to converse with fan boys of certain products. It's useless, once a fan boy, they will defend regardless of the prices or the product.
@MrAletube7 жыл бұрын
you know costs? ok,what is the markup on this amp? 3 times? maybe 4? you tell me. i tell you this,Fender hot rod deluxe is 10 times! anyway,price is decided by the distributors,because they have to make money or they won't even sell it. Would you buy it if it costs 2500? No,i'm sure.... Anyway no doctor prescribes to buy a Friedman,you're free to get an EVH3,that is much more of a scam ampwise.

Oh this amp is SO versatile, sounds SO different with 3 totally different guitars playing through the same settings, yet with different tone woods, build construction, as well as pickups..., well DUH!! The freakin GUITAR is mostly what gives a tube amp its sound, followed by the amp itself. Give me a Strat, and I'll make any good tube amp sound amazing for blues. Same thing for a LP or PRS with the coils tapped. But to convince me an amp is truly versatile, use the SAME GUITAR. They all do this, no matter what amp is being demo'd.
@the_original_jt7 жыл бұрын
I am getting this amp!
@lukecho31717 жыл бұрын
I think the Smallbox Wildwood edition is a competitor of this amp and it’s $400 cheaper. It has a third (hbe like) gain channel with a master volume. One big difference is that the Smallbox clean channel has a gain knob that will give pristine cleans all the way up you to classic rock dirty plexi tones. You won’t be able to get that on the be100 or be-50 clean channel.
@konnektlive6 жыл бұрын
Also, the Small Box has a more vintage Plexi tone to it in both Clean and BE channel. Small Box's sound is different in compare to BE100 as I have tried both in a shop. BE100 sounds more modern with more compression and smoother sounding; while Small Box sounds more vintage, Plexi~ish, definitely more mid forward than BE-100 and is to my ears a bit less smooth and less compressed or less refined if it makes any sense. On the other hand, BE-50 has lot's more features, Return knob and on/off switch for the Fx-loop, Sat, Fat, Voicing switch for BE/HBE channel, Lower voltage (25w). Also the clean channel on BE-50 is based on Buxom Betty amp which sound great. However, the clean channel of BE-50 seems to not have a master volume, so I assume you can not crank it up for crunchy/edge of breakup tones, unless you wanna go really loud. All in all, I think by getting BE-50 you will get lot's more features and a 50w version of the BE100 with it's modern and famous sound. Small Box on the other hand has it's unique Plexi sound that can not be found on any other Friedman amps and is more simplified and sounds phenomenally dynamic and rich. Decisions, decisions!
@lukecho31716 жыл бұрын
Agree konnekt, BE 100/50 gives a lot of tone options and switches, but I bet most BE 100 players don’t use those switches most of the time. You might say the small box without the switches is all you need for the best tone. I have a BE100 and I almost always run it straight up without any of the switches engaged. To my ears the BE channel straight up is near perfect for hard rock. The tone switches add compression which takes away clarity and dynamics. Only exception for me is the voice switch which seems to make dull old strings sound like a new set. So all that money to buy a BE 100 will eventually pay for itself since I don’t have to buy new strings as often! LOL
@konnektlive6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Luke, indeed man. There is no doubt Friedman BE-50 is going to be awesome, no doubt about that. But Small Box's dynamics is just second to none. No other amp including Friedman amps has such an incredible dynamics to my experience... Also, to my ears, anything extra added to the circuit has the potential to change both sound and feel of the unit. And for that, I usually try to avoid multi channel/mode/switch amps unless I have to. Relatively simple circuits without anything extra somehow keeps the tone more organic and natural and in word 'stringy' it makes any sense. It just keeps the guitar sound present and audible instead of masking it with stuff! With Small Box I could easily go clean/clean to dirty clean with just picking and volume guitar and then by digging harder I was in heavy rock heaven, as easy as that. I just don't wanna lose that. Hopefully more demos and possibly comparisons will be available in the next couple of weeks before I pull the trigger on one of these beauties!

So this is the same BE and HBE circuit as the BE100, but with all the mods, 50 watts instead of 100, and the Betty Clean ch? The thing about Sweetwater demos is they never say anything negative and seem like they are just super salesmen. Nobody knows if they will like this better than a BE100 until you play it for yourself. Love it so far, but I already have a BE100, and I hardly use any of the mod switches.

Here in Europe a Mark V costs 3000, the Lonestar 2700 and the Fender 65 Deluxe 1500. Friedman amps are expensive, but they are not the only ones, specially in Europe. As the company grows, I hope in the future we can see more premium amps at a lower price point.
