Much more open and actually has MIDs!!! I will say pairing it with the right OD helps tame the low end voicing. For me the Boss SD-1 is perfect!!

Thanks! Really good MV. Also I use a Fractal FM3 for effects and midi channel switching and it helps tame the out put and allow the MV to be pushed a bit more.

el84's versus 34's no comparison. The 20w will make your ears ring and is plenty loud and has killer tone just does not have the girth and oomph the EL34's provide. Also if your a low volume guy the 20w has a sat switch which makes the Mast volume much more useable

@ yeah,it’s a bigger power section,which comes down to more than just what tubes are used,but if the overall tone is the same,that’s all I care about..I run everything thru a Fryette PS100,so not concerned about volume or oomph..I am now leaning towards the IR-J ..
