Why does any translator ever use "ye?" It is, in all senses, a useless pronoun which simply seeks to establish a work as pretentious. I don't believe German has such a pronoun, so I'm fairly positive it was the translator's decision.

nietzsche was making fun of philosophers so i assume the translator saw that as a sarcastic tool suitable for the cause

It's a term which was appropriate to the times. It was never a pretentious word and was used in common parlance.

What were Nietzsche's thoughts on love? Is love, by nature, hypocritical to him? Then, might I ask this: Is love evil? And if you say yes, do you yourself love? Are you then not evil? Which is greater? Love or hypocrisy? I know not today. An accurate point of reference I lack. Therefore, I require truth. Do you mind? What is love to you? I implore you to tell. I know not. Therefore I ask furthermore, what in fact is wisdom? And where does such as wisdom begin? Lead me not astray, please. Do you mind?

Jim Adams I usually use the Oxford dictionary but sometimes it could use circular reasoning for the definitions. Which I reason could be wrong, just look at the issue of good and evil. Good-3:possessing or displaying moral virtue Evil-1:profoundly immoral and malevolent So the good is moral because it's not immoral and it's immoral because its not moral yet morality is subjective, which is to say morality is different for everyone. What looks evil to one, can be viewed by another as good; whether it be different religious beliefs, society, or some other influence and belief about things.
