My Grandfather was so talented, I'm so happy I got to hear him talk again. I love learning about my family and this taught me a lot. Danke!

A very wonderful video about a wonderful man. I regret once declining the opportunity to join his workshop.

Cool to see Roxanne (I recognize her because of her work with Mannheim Steamroller) in this video!

Hahahaha! She was one of "Us" before she was one of "Them". She was one one heck of a teacher - she got me liking music I swore I would never play. Hahahaha!

At 7:39 our Meister is showing us the lower part of a modern treble recorder , presumably the patented version by Mollenhauer (the Tarasov Modern Alto Recorder), enlarged to have an E as the lowest tone. It houses three keys, making possible to produce the three lowest tones: E , F and F# with very stable and powerful sounds. This enlargement also permits the production of 5 more notes in the higher register. That is, making possible to play 33 well defined chromatic tones (range of a modern standard trumpet). Great footage of a Great Meister, much obliged, dear ARS!

This was neat to watch. I'm a professional musician with 9 old von Huene recorders, probably made by Friedrich himself (I hope). They are my favorite recorders of the baroque style to play. What fascinates me about them is that they were made 50+ years ago, yet they have a sparkle to the sound that still competes with similar recorders made today. I even prefer the old ones to the new style of von Huenes. While the new ones are more uniform in tone color throughout the whole range than any other recorder I've tried, they've lost that sparkle that I love so much.

Thanks, many thanks for this video: I am a proud owner of a recorder made by Friedrich von Huene about 35 years ago (a Rottenburg copy ) and appreciated greatly the video.
