Wonderful man! I sure wish there were more of you around. Thanks for sharing your great little clips. We lived in Bristol in the 80's, foxes were everywhere. On New year's Eve, 1984, I arrived home in the middle of the night with my son on the handlebars of my bike to find two of them arguing in front of our house. They were clearly annoyed at the interruption. They begrudgingly moved a few doors down and were still at it as we entered the house. It was my son's first New Year's Eve out. And, the one he will never forget. So cool having them in urban areas.

There's actually no feeling like gaining an animal's friendship and trust. All of our animals came to us lost, stray, homeless or through rescue. An animal makes your home their home and goes from being fearful, hungry and scared and in next to no time is dozing on your chest or in your lap. And from going from zero to hero, they quickly go from being starving (will eat anything) to being somewhat picky (you expect me to eat that?). Animals are profoundly good judges of character (not that I'm promoting my own ego!) Lovely to see you caring for this fox; cheers!
@jonathanwalker87304 жыл бұрын
@David Needler By dead animals, you mean 'presents'. They look really disappointed when they plod up to you and drop a dead mouse at your feet and you're not impressed. When I lived with my former partner we had five cats at one point, all of which were strays who had decided that we were going to home them. Which, of course, we obediently did, despite both of us being chronically allergic. The cats were spoilt rotten with fresh chicken and fish, while we lived on a diet of anti-histamine pills. Sneezing was not a deterrent. But they were worth the suffering.

I watch 'Save A Fox' channel the young lady that runs this sanctuary/rescue for fixes, and other rescues, loads videos of these amazing creatures and I can watch them all night. She gets close up footage of their warm eyes. And some just adore scratches and hugs. I envy her as well. There is something so pure about wild life. They cleanse your soul when they honor you with their presence and friendship. There is nothing like it. Thank you for the videos.

Patience will get you golden experiences in life. It took me six months to earn the trust of a cat. I started by placing food out and leaving her be, then graduating up to where I would hang for a bit so she would get used to my presence. By winter she was expecting her meals, and one cold evening I was sat on my back patio trying to catch a glimpse of her before turning in for the night. I had a treat; she came right up, ate from my hand, brushed against me with a loud purr, and never left. I named her Halle. She was a petite, tailless tabby who spent the next seven years enjoying the life of pethood. Sadly, we had to let her go December 2018 for health reasons. I miss that beautiful girl! I see her initial timidness in this sweet little fox.

I grew up in algona Washington about 40 miles south of seattle. There was a pretty large red tail fox that could be seen often darting across the main highway into town at night. This went on for about three years then on the front page of the local news paper was a picture of a farmer holding the murdered fox by the tail and grinning. This was about 1965. It was that fox alright because we never saw it cross the highway again. We had seen it dozens of times before.
