Ah we remember the DBC very well from almost exactly 2 years ago !! But the day we cruised along it (on a Friday BTW), those reeds hid loads of fishermen (possibly women too ?!), so every time we started to rev up, we had to slow down again, as we only saw them at the last second !! And for us memories of that basin are ever s slightly tinged with sadness, as we had to finish our week's cruising of the Stourport ring there. But loads of memories again so many thanks ladies xx

This brings back good memories of our trip around the Avon Ring last year - I decided to do the Droitwich Barge Canal instead of continuing down the Worcester and Birmingham canal. I enjoyed mooring at the basin in Droitwich Spa - very convenient to shopping and pubs, and secured by gates and fences. Thanks for the video!

A canal observation: Our farm in Idaho had a slow moving canal running through it. Much like a towpath, you could drive on one side the other looked just like the canal you are traveling on.

So what do the cats think of the dog? You obviously enjoy Molly. She is a lovely dog. Jono has a great companion there. I'm sure if you weren't married and had 2 cats, there would be a dog. Cruising the Cut found the cill mentioned in the warning sign. He was not amused.

the cats trust us and only really attack dogs when we yell at them (the dogs). So when Molly visited we greeted her and the cats kept their distance but never attacked her.

Bridge 12 looks like that arch beam is laid up from laminations, wonder if there's any hope of success in pausing the video on full screen and counting the layers. That concrete bridge where the canal narrows appears to have been lined with corrugated metal panels bolted in place. An interesting detail if one were to model it.

When I was helping (for a very short time, half a lifetime ago) restoring the Droitwich canals, this was just called the "armco tube". It only had a rough footpath through it then and there was some debate over whether even a single narrow boat would fit through it. It is indeed a tube made up from curved corrugated panels bolted together. There are two bridges close together there. I assume "Armco" is a trade name.

Excellent vlog. I have wondered why vlogers never show some actual footage of a period in their day. Instance - set the cameras up in the boat for a couple of hours and let them run while you go about your business. Edit the really bad bits out if you want. But the idea is to give us a sense of what a real moored up day, relaxing / working / early evening/ dinner / lunch perood is like. BUT you are still my best stars.
