Anyway, when Allen comes in he makes the same joke, showing them all that he has a good sense of humor, and making them laugh because they are in on the joke.

I actually think the complete opposite. this was a show with actual conversations. it turned into them constantly yelling and screaming and becoming caricatures of the original characters, with ridiculous impossible storylines. you could believe you had a friend like fun Bobby who became an alcoholic, or you could believe a lot of the things from seasons one through three. new writers, overacting, it turned into a circus sideshow act and it wasn't good anymore, but everyone can have their thing. it's nice that there are enough versions of this show for everyone to enjoy something
