@@Surfer041 Well they all had their own hypocritical moments at times. I think you're being too harsh about Phoebe's character. She was always in Joey's corner no matter what and always gave him advice; helped him in situations. Her and Ross had some sweet and kind moments amongst each other too after this season. For instance after Rachel had her and Ross' baby and Phoebe convinced him to fight for their love and relationship so he could finally have everything he ever wanted since he was 16. In the finale she's the one who took him to the airport to get Rachel to come back. That was Phoebe's doing making him decide to fight for her. While she was pregnant with her brother and his wife's babies she decided to name 1 of the babies after Chandler just to cheer him up because he was depressed after his girlfriend Kathy cheated on him. At Mondler's wedding when she thought Monica was pregnant but realized it was actually Rachel who was pregnant and she wasn't ready to tell the group yet Phoebe covered for her by taking the "fall" and saying she was the one who was pregnant instead. Yes, Phoebe became a bit harsher towards her friends after this season but they were still her friends and like her family and she ultimately wanted the best for all of them so it's just not an accurate accusation that she wasn't no longer friendly or supportive of her friends or even selfless with strangers. She was 1 of the best "friends" of the group and people along with Monica and Joey! 💯

I hated this scene. It only felt to me like her kindness was being used. Everything felt wrong. Carrying a baby is one of the most difficult things in the world how could they even have the nerves to ask her that. And her brother was barely an adult with a woman who was idk 40-50.. that just doesn't sit right with me.

Phoebe is not a saint, not a "best friend", not selfless, not pure, and not humanitarian. She is a very negative person: a thief, a pathological liar (the pigeon, the cellphone, etc), a hypocrite (Rachel's free massage ticket), and an awful person in general. She did her best to sabotage Chandler and Monica's relationship of pure wickedness, and when Chandler complained, she nastily teased him "you'll find somebody else"). Only a totally heartless person would do such a thing to friends. She'd heartlessly deprive a cat from its owner because of her crazy ideas. Luckily for the cat's owner, Ross made Phoebe change her mind. For good measure she gave away a puppy that did not belong to her. A very nice and altruistic deed, right? It seemed the puppy's owner did not think it was. Just because a bad person does something altruistic now and then (in Phoebe's case - very rarely), it does not automatically erase clean all the bad deeds this person often commits.

I don't think you are allowed to be a surrogate UNLESS you have carried at least one pregnancy to term AND given birth. LEGALLY. And considering you need a doctor to implant a fertized egg from the mother and father (or a donors egg or donors sperm. However the parents who are taking the baby home are doing it) it seems like it would be difficult hiding from the rules. A pregnancy is BIG deal and takes a toll on the body. Not only is it not very ethical to ask and put a woman thru that when she had never before carried a full term baby and gave it away, but the best indicator of how a woman copes with pregnancy (physically and mentally) is prior pregnancies. And even then it's difficult to know for sure (atleast for everything) but many women have fertility problems they NEVER know about until they try to get pregnant or try to carry a pregnancy to term. But it's always a good sign if a woman has done it before (in terms of physically doing it and the difficulty they have.)
