Taking off your seatbelt because you think there's going to be a crash might be the stupidest thing I've ever heard from Jonny. 😂 If the belts didn't work, they wouldn't spend the money and weight putting them in, and the cabin crew wouldn't spend their precious time preparing the cabin for an emergency landing making sure people have done up their belts. And if there's an evacuation, you will have more than enough time to undo your seatbelt before you can start walking to the door anyway. But you'll have a much harder time evacuating if your head is cracked open like an overripe walnut after hitting the ceiling of the cabin. Please do up your belt tightly Jonny, if only for the sake of the other people in the cabin who don't want to get splattered by your brain matter.

I crash test aircraft seats for takeoff and landing accident (anything more than that, you've got bigger problems) mostly cabin crew/cockpit seats but the same applies. The belt will either save you or at least prevent major injury to yourself and others, much like in a car. Having seen the belt now function correctly during development tests... I wouldn't recommend it!

Aircraft lap belt test for Jonny: 1. Do up lap belt. 2. Try to stand up. OK, they're not much use in a major crash, but they'll hold you down in bad turbulence or if something pops

In the Westcountry, there are signs on the (i think) 303 for Tristan St. Erme. It turns out they’re two villages but the signs are unclear. Have always thought Tristan St. Erme was an old-money guy whose family had fallen from grace following some dodgy deals and has become the upper-class front for Wendens Ambo’s deals with cartels who admire English Aristocracy. Almost certainly drives an old Jaaaag.

We're about to find out if it does the trick. I just ordered some (using the affiliate link, you SSGs) to put in a stood-for-a-year, Spec-'D', one owner from new, Alfa. Can it stop the kangarooing under hard acceleration, without whipping off the Fuel tank?

Alfa 2.2, yeah? Believe! Let us know if it works 👍 Jonny has 30 bottles to use on the Late Brake fleet.

Aircraft seat belts - think of them as rear seat belts in a car. In a severe impact it will hold you in place so that you do not crush the person in the seat in front. Clearly your head and upper body will impact the seat but, surprisingly, it will actually snap forward to a second setting after a big enough impact. The 'brace' position means your head is already in contact with or near the seat back so the impact on you is reduced. So, wear your seat belt!
Doesn't Yoko Ono live near Bristol? She actually rides an e-bike and passes your house on the way to work as a fog horn voice over artiste, doing vocal warm up exercises on the way.

Talking of people who live in the Wendens Ambo universe remind me that at some stage I need to complete the further reminiscences of Hartley Wintney the noted retired Bentley dealer Merry Christmas both and thanks for another year of interesting podcast
Sade's new track Young Lion is about her son Izaak Theo and the video mostly shows him as a child before he transitioned. Listen to her lyrics and you might well up, especially if you're a parent.

Question for Rich. You SSG How tempted were you in the closing part of the amphibious Cara crossing the channel film for TG. For Clarkson to say "We've been amphibious but rubbish". As a play on words. 😑

Imo, Santa himself doesn't need a large car. He's got the sleigh for such heavy duties. I think he'd drive an original Panda 4x4 kept in immaculate condition. Lady Claus, though, she does need some space. Hence why she drives an XC70. She had a 2006, but updated to a 2016 when she learned it was going to go out of production

I've just spent 36hrs flying. As a sailor I carry boat rigging bits with me. Having dropped mobile phones in the drink (we managed to dunk 9 in a week on one boat). I have lanyards and caribinas everywhere.
