Wash your rice! Rice has starch and when you don’t wash it, it comes out sticky and hard! When I wash AND RINSE my rice it comes out so fluffy and soft 🥰 it makes such a difference.

Please be careful with rice!! I didn’t realize until my poor toddler got food poisoning from left over right rice just a few months ago. The doctor said you have to be careful with rice. Could have been worse! I felt so guilty feeding her that damn rice.

I’m a full blooded Puerto Rican. Born & raised in Hawaii & everyone in Hawaii rinses their rice when it’s plain white rice. I also notice it helps the rice last longer. Even when we make gandule rice we rinse

Hi queens!!! 👋🏻 As far as the rice - the reason why we’re told to wash it is because it removes any particles like, debris, excess starch, microplastics and I even heard any chemicals used during processing. I usually wash it because of the starch and to be on the safe side.

You can put warm food in the fridge but not if it’s a huge ass container. It has to be cooled down to 40 degrees to prevent bacteria from growing. Food should not be left out longer than 2 hours.

You’re not supposed to wash your rice because it gets rid of the natural starch, which is what holds the rice grain together and not turning mushy and crumbling in the pot. The high heat will kill any bacteria in the rice during the cooking process.
