They she she’s indifferent because she can be indifferent, right now she’s learning not to be. Also she is doing deeds for herself, remember she’s trying to retrace the adventures of her old party. She’s kind but I wouldn’t say she goes out of her way to be a hero

Characters are saying she is indifferent, because she, herself is pretty indifferent kinda person. However, the show is trying to 'show and not tell' you that Himmel had such a huge impact on everyone, including her. It is similar to hanging with someone for a long time and you know many of their actions aren't to their true nature, but from an outside source, be it their parents or a pivotal moment in their life. So yes, current version of Frieren is not all that indifferent, but there is a reason why Fern states that she doesn't think Frieren is a certain way.

It's easy to understand why the party didn't stay together if you think in terms of their lifespan especially for Eisen (I think in this anime Dwarves live for hundreds of years) and Frieren (elves likely for thousands). You even kinda realised it at the end when you said Fern might split due to the ten year journey.

All questions you have will be answered throughout the show. Just enjoy the ride. The show take its time to develop everything. It does not provide quick set ups and pay-offs, or quick emotional resolutions.

Frieren as a character is a walking oxymoron. On one side you have a thousand years old sage, all knowing, all wise, all powerful. On other you have a girl emotionally at her 18s who has the phenomenon called "long youth" - although being old having childish tendencies which is very charming. Her relationship with Fern is based on very interesting dynamic - teacher/student and mother/daughter, with the last one interchanging between the two girls. Sometimes Fern acts as mother, others - Frieren. I am joining you on this phenomenal journey. You are great! Keep up the good work!

Thank you ! I love the dynamic between Fern and Frieren so much, it just feels like there couldn't have been a better choice than to have the two of them develop together.

Nesa, I believe, mentioned Flamme's earrings. This is not a spoiler because nothing is ever said about the earrings in either the Manga or the Anime. Flamme wore Red teardrop earrings with a little bauble dangling at the bottom. They are magical because they are not attached to the ear. Frieren never wears earrings of any kind for 1000 years after Flamme's death. But once she meets Himmel and joins his quest, she begins to wear Red teardrop earrings but without the bauble and she never takes them off, even to sleep. She also at the same time begins to wear her combat uniform. Whether this has any meaning to the story is unknown, but the timing is curious.

the earrings not attaching to the ear is just an anime art choice. in the manga the little loops connecting are drawn in closeups

@@Palxco In the Manga, VOL 7 CH 59 Page 39 where Frieren says "Don't worry Himmel, the world is changing" Full face both ears showing. Zoom the frame, and there is no connection between the Red teardrop and its clasp which is drawn the same way for both ears in the panel. The second immediate panel to the right showing Frieren's ear also does not show a connection. Three times is not a drawing error VOL 7 CH 63 Page 101, where Frieren says "He deserves that title" no connection is shown between the Red Teardrop and the clasp. Whatever one wants to believe is their right, but Madhouse correctly interpreted in the Anime what was shown in the Manga. The new Anime ED also emphasizes the earrings. The Frieren earrings are certainly an artistic choice and character design. Whether they have any connection to the plot, is entirely a personal conjecture. But the timing of when she puts them on in the plot is certainly a strange connection. Although they are Flamme's earring choice, it is only when Frieren joins Himmel's quest 1000 years later, that she begins to wear them, and then never takes them off.

I haven't seen any reason to see the lack of connection there as anything but an art choice, since they were often drawn as connected in the opening chapters.

Hey guys! Ghost viewer here, so probably not going to see much of me. I can understand not taking your eyes from the screen when is the middle of the episode. But when you are doing the intro I think you should look at the camera to mimic looking into your audience eyes. Help they connect with you and so it makes the experience and even their ability to relate to you and what you say better

I think the elves in this show are like Tolkiens elves. Immortal as in they will not die through physical means. They can get killed tho for sure, but not die lets say from old age.
