The sound of the pony's hooves are so precious. Tiny hooves with lots of purpose. Their short legs have to go twice as fast to catch up. Queen Uniek has those huge horse shoes and long strides to get her to where she wants to be. Miss Peach is precious with her tiny white hairs on her forehead. She is a real charmer💙💛💚💜❤

This is so beautiful. I was so shocked that nice peaceful Daisy was so mean to Glennie when Peach went to her. Glennie was so wonderful with Spidey. She has never shown any jealousy. I am patiently waiting to see her own foal. Wunder is growing faster than I’ve seen a foal grow. I really love Uniek’s little walk about in the barn before going into her stall. Regarding the ponies and horses struggling with their vision for a few moments when moving from bright sunshine into shaded areas this was my favourite explanation from the Horse Fact Book: "At the back of a horse’s eye is a membrane known as the tapetum lucidum which is a retroreflector meaning it reflects visible light back through the retina, increasing the amount of light in the eye and therefore a horse’s ability to see in the dark, this and the high number of rods (the part of the eye that controls night vision). So the truth is horses actually have very good night vision, but where they do struggle is with quick changes in light."

Amazing that the Friesians always play musical stalls regardless if they're at Stal H or Stal G. Funny how they have to check out each other's stalls to see what the layout is. Very Sad for Glendy, Daisy pushed her to the end of the paddock only to corner her to kick her. I understand it's just horse behaviour but still Daisy sure has a strong Mem instinct to protect her little Peach. Love you all, God Bless!!!

Horses have particularly efficient nocturnal vision, comparable to that of felines. The problem is that the adaptation of the view to different lighting conditions is quite slow. And this would explain why horses sometimes have trouble getting on trailers: unfamiliar smells in a dark environment

I feel so sad for Glendy. She respected Daisy and went to the end of their area. Glendy was minding her own business, not bothering anyone.,,.then gets kicked for it. So sad that the space didn't allow Glendy to get away easily, poor Glendy. This situation was dangerous. They need a bigger, wider area, so trying to get away doesn't lead to serious injury. Aggravating to watch the video and It didn't have to happen.

You’re so right, Yvonne, Peach is almost too cute. As to going from light to dark, horses have monocular vision, therefore their depth perception is not very good. Most humans have binocular vision. I also enjoyed a re-play of that fascinating game that the Friesians did as they came in - Go In the Stall, Go Out the Stall! We've seen this before at Stal G and it's always good for a laugh, at least for the horses and watchers. Maybe not so much for poor Yvonne.

5:48, Horses are steppe animals, which means they very rarely hang out in forested areas (the ones that do are often artificially kept there), so they didn't need to evolve a rapid dark adaptation response. Their eyes adapt to the gradual change in darkness that occurs at twilight hours. This is also part of the reason for why trailers can be so scary for horses - it looks like a dark cave, and for the first 30 seconds or so once they step in, they're basically blind while the rods in their eyes adapt. Once their eyes have adapted, horses have better night vision than humans do. This is the same for sheep and goats, which is why it can be tricky to get them to go inside a barn for the first time. Once these animals are familiar with their barn, they'll go inside more easily because they know they're not going to trip over a fallen tree or whatever. Humans on the other hand come from jungle ancestry, where being able to shift very quickly from light to dark was advantageous - think of moving quickly from a clearing in the jungle to the perpetual twilight in the underbrush. And since humans mostly like to hang out near forests or construct artificial caves (what, really, is a house but an artificial cave?), it remained advantageous to maintain our quick dark adaptation reflex. Other animals, like wolves (and dogs), cats, pigs, most deer, and chickens also have fast dark adaptation, and is part of the reason that they are generally easier to bring into a house, barn, or coop (or live in suburbia, like many deer do).
