Yes, Coralle was artificially impregnated with the embryo that became Belle, but Coralle will always be her birth mother. So she will always be more than just a surrogate to me. Coralle is a beautiful, sweet mare and I will always love her no matter where she is. She is fondly remembered.

The love between Belle and Coralle is so obvious. Coralle has been a wonderful mother to her foal and Belle’s affection towards her mem is so sweet to watch. Uniek would be so happy to see how well this has turned out. I do feel bad that Coralle will be leaving soon (or already has) as she has changed so much while at Stal H and now fits in so well with her herd, and the care from Yvonne. Remember when she wouldn’t even look at Yvonne? Now she loves her and all the care Yvonne provides.

Belle is very observant. Look how she intently watched her mem, Coralle’s response and calmed down for Yvonne. In that respect she’s very much like her bio-mem Uniek, who was not reactive, who observed then reacted and only if necessary, ruled by her intellect and not emotion. By mid of September Yvonne already had to stand on her toes when brushing Belle's mane right behind the ears, and as we know Yvonne is tall! Wow, Belle Uniek is huge. 😊
