NGL I think it got worse over time. It may technically be better but I'm a sucker for raw midi and synth. Soulless 1 has a great hook. 5 is okay but nothing truly grabbing. But then you also have to consider the restriction of having to make it difficult for plastic guitar too. So maybe that's slightly unfair.

Not sure what the fuck Jon is talking about. The songs progressively got better as they've been made. I think a big thing about the music alone is that the music seems to have been more about having sound playing in the background while lots of notes happen. But leading up to Soulless 5, there's pretty catchy and memorable spots in 4 and 5 that hold up really well and fun to listen to as you play / watch streamers. Musically the songs got waaaaay better. I remember hearing Soulless 5 and was like "Fuck, this is like legit music now, that's rad". I hope for the next Soulless game, ExileLord brings in real instruments while also having the digital midi sound they've always had.

On the note of alt strumming if you ever decide to pick up a real guitar it will give you some type of head start after you learn the frets. I played guitar hero for 10 years and just last year i picked up the real guitar and im almost sure it helped my progression immensely

No, heres my opinion of soulless diffculty, easiest to hardest: S1 S3 S2 S5 S4 S6 (In my opinion, S2 has moments that are harder than the hardest moments in S5 but the length of S5 makes it harder overall.)
