I believe if Loki was not in prison, he probably will be on his mom's side and Frigga might still be alive. As treacherous as Loki is, he knows he should be there beside his mom to hide from this attack as he's sometimes afraid and akward from battles unlike Thor who is known in general for being a warrior and a fighter in nature.

I get that Thor was enraged when he came in (and possibly in shock as well), but if that was my mother on the floor like that, I would be holding her just as Odin did. Thor is the one that has the MOST TRAGIC DEATH. Doom ends the COMICS SUPERHEROES without emotion, thus, their end is somewhat just an ordinary ending, but for THOR, with no one understand, DOOM brings out his FULL ANGER emotion, repeatedly and doom wants thor suffer until its last breath. It was seen and foretold that DOOM even tries to REVIVE thor many times in order to suffer. Thor is asking his death but DOOM does'nt want to give it. Doom really prepares ONLY SUFFERING to thor and NOT DEATH, it is worst than the repeated peeling of DOOM to wolverine at the END of DOOMSDAY comics. In the end Doom cannot revive thors anymore due to too much suffering. HAPPY COMICS DOOMSDAY EVERYONE!
