I’m sorry bro I love Childers but go back and listen to the words to frostbite. I have never been so shocked, moved, impressed and amazed by music in my life. My first thought was “how the heck can a kid this young sing with so much soul. But when I heard what he was saying I was hit harder than I’ve ever been hit by an artist I’m my life. He’s just getting started. Childers is going to be opening for him and begging to get one of the songs he wrote. I’ve never been so sure in my life lol.

Jake…… I work at a mine…. I seen your video Frostbite this morning on the busride to work at 5:30 am…… it instantly grabbed my attention. I thought about digging into your stuff all day today at work…. I just got off work from a particularly hard 12 hour day…. I’m bagged, sitting on the bus waiting to take another hour ride home….. and I sat down and watched this tune…. You rocked me man….. you are on to something special here. It is hard to explain that a young man sings like an old soul. It reminds me of the folk music of my time. So many diverse voices with so many statements to express. If I had heard this performance coming from Gregg Allman it would not have surprised me. Soulful, Melodic notes that draw out the pain, angst & heart. I am a huge fan of jte and have definitely been inspired by him before. This seems like an instance but I remember writing this before I discovered Justin and being like woah I totally copied that song. They're fairly different though so I never worried about it but yeah I guess it's both a reference and not a reference haha
