Saw the frightends a few times - once at brixton and once at a small stage in glasto. Scott (im assuming) turned up super late but my two friends were super into them once they kicked off. It was a late start cause of playing elsewhere in the festie fields (other people playing) and scott being scott. Old old fashioned the was first and was an amazement in my life and im so thankful to all of you band chickens :) i've learnt and busk five of your songs and my favourite is "Die like a Rich Boy". (I'd love 'Poke' more but that estring tuning ...is.....actually....... worth it )

It took me a while to figure out what the following lyrics meant: Hold onto your thumbs Tighten your eyelids Lock up your ears my dear But I figured it out: “Hold onto your thumbs”. Just wrap your fingers around your thumbs. “Tighten your eyelids”. Just squint your eyes closed like you are bracing for something. “Lock up your ears my dear”. Now bring your hands to your ears. If you do all three it’s basically preparing yourself to be physically or verbally abused by someone. Or both.
