Here's a wonderful commercial for the Frigidaire Automatic Spray Tube Dishwasher, with the exclusive 11,000 whirling needle sprays of water every minute!

Back then, no dishwasher could out clean the Hobart KitchenAid with the Hydro-Sweep wash system.

Frigidaire made excellently engineered products. Except for minor differences (older ones had a nichrome coiled wire that provided the heat for drying AND they were forced air - from a squirrel cage little fan - instead of the cal-rods that are in dishwashers today) but yes they still have a pump that sprays hot water with chlorinated detergent. But I also know from experience that Hobart made KitchenAide dishwashers they did indeed do the best cleaning job of any on the market at the time.

Yes, at the time, Bess was to Frigidaire, as Betty Furness was to Westinghouse. This ad appeared on Frigidaire's "DO YOU TRUST YOUR WIFE?" {featuring Edgar Bergen and his "dummies"}.

In the 1950s when Americans were buying full-sized dishwashers like these, most people in other countries couldn't even imagine such machines existed. They were astonished at how Americans lived then.

My Frigidaire dishwasher lasted me about 5-years before it died on me. I guess they tell me this is average these days. I was happy with it. Did a good job. I ended up with a Bosch. Got a good deal on it.

I built my house in 1997 and I still have the original Bosch dishwasher. Best cleaning dishwasher I’ve ever had. I had to repair it once about 3 years ago. I could either spend $175 for the part or buy a brand new machine. I chose to replace the part for $175. What a great dishwasher!
