Beware ⚠️ pressing the clean button is not enough, it’s still hiding mold inside, make sure you clean the right way! I ended up throwing it away I do not think this is a safe machine…

Thankyu for this video! The newer models has access to it and for me I don’t run it 24/7. We have an ice area (square bowl in the freezer) and I fill that up which last about a week but takes a few hours to fill.. When it is filled, I empty everything, dry thoroughly and let the whole machine air dry with the baskets sir also drying one top and openly - while it’s covered lightly (with either a thin fabric or paper napkins).. After a day then I make sure everything is bone dry then I put everything back in place and close the back (the newest edition and the area where the water reservoir is as in this video).. mahalo again!

Thank for this!! I was accessing the reservoir from inside and was stressed there were parts I couldn’t reach to clean! Hope your pillow is always cool, you get all green lights, and receive many blessings in the future!

God bless you!! I have never done a deep clean to my unit before and really wanted to do one, not just a flush. I am shocked at how gross it was in there!! That life-hack of not screwing the top back on is awesome, because unscrewing that was stressful... Thank you so much for sharing this video!!!

You had me crying 😂😂😂. But, you done it right Distilled vinegar. Is used for cleaning everything. They even use it in swimming pools instead of Chlorine. Natural way to disinfect.

Thanks for the good tutorial… You’re the only one that I’ve seen take the top off for the deep cleaning. My unit is one and a half months old and just did my first cleaning after the power went off while on vacation and the water just sit in there for a week and stared to get slimy in the reservoir. I saw someone comment about that plastic clear piece in front of the reservoir being able to slide open and it was in the instruction booklet too… So I removed it and wiped everything from the inside. I don’t see any blobs of mold, so I think I caught it before it got worse. Thank you for the great video!

This video totally helped me. They really should have made this machine with that lid being able to remove it to clean it properly. I really love our machine. It is on 24/7. Thank u!!!

Would love to see a follow up video of taking the sides and top off. Also how the top operates with no screws once assembled and if it’s easily assessable. Overall good information, thanks for sharing!

@allwrathnograpesАй бұрын
The front of that upper reservoir has a little slider with a silicone gasket. You can take the water tray out, pull out the slider thing, and wipe out that upper reservoir. It's a little tight, but no screwdriver is needed

I was in question to buy one of these or not. After watching your take apart video and seeing how simple it is and everything I ordered one. I will modify mine also so the lid comes off easy to clean.

Can you show exactly how you take the back and to off? After taking out the 8 screws on the back, still cannot get back or top to come off.

I just bought this and did the typical cleaning before use. The first couple of buckets of ice were fine but a day later they started tasting very bad, like plastic. Did you ever run I to that?

I have a model that is the same but ends in a “5”. I purchased from Costco, I know sometimes that have model numbers specifically for them. The unit looks identical to yours. I did as you did and left the screws out of the top portion, However it seems like you need an incredible amount of force to pull the lid out from under the groove and I’ve scared I will break it. Did you not push the top underneath the front lip so it comes off easy, or do I just need to apply more force? I don’t want to have an “oops” moment
@tiffanysgottimetoday45892 ай бұрын
@@drjoeshmoe well after a nasty black blob of goo fell out I didn’t care if it broke! because I was disgusted 🤢 I did apply pressure to take it off bcuz it’s hard, but thinking my family drinking moldy ice sometime you have to do what’s needed to take it off
@Kit-E-Kat9 күн бұрын
Why wouldn’t they just make a sliding access door for that one area???
@MrsSoniaElaineАй бұрын
Just bought one at Costco yesterday and started reading how to clean it. Were you cleaning it regularly before you found the glob of mold. Do you normally clean it weekly ? It says weekly. Do I need to do it weekly? It also has another part that says what parts to clean daily ??? I love ice. I hope this does not require so much maintenance. I think mine is very similar to yours.
@tiffanysgottimetoday4589Ай бұрын
I cleaned it weekly and like 3 times during the cleaning not just once so example on cleaning day it will be cleaned triple and still it was a big nasty blob ..it freaked me out because I cleaned over the amount suggested on a regular basis and I was like it’s no way this thing is dirty I’m using boiling hot water and vinegar. So I took it apart , I only had it a couple of months when I made this video. Yes it is a lot of maintenance so I just threw it away I don’t think it’s safe, I bought reusable ice instead…
@SamMeador-p8cАй бұрын
You will do all that to clean an ice maker but you can’t be bothered to replace a smoke detector battery.
@tiffanysgottimetoday4589Ай бұрын
@@SamMeador-p8c it still works with the battery beeping 😂

I just watched another video same exact machine Make sure you get them drain hoses clean because they do swish water back and forth to each other and the things that I seen come out will make you not ever want to eat of another piece of ice out of any kind of machine again.
