Thank you so much for the information even tho I already checked a few more videos because my neighbor ask me to check her stove too because her oven is not heating up and I just told her to call an expert or the gas company to help her repair it, but after watching this videos it looks very simple to fix the problem

I have a similar kind of oven, and did the same repair myself recently! *(AFTER watching a bunch of videos, including yours!)* and it's an easy fix! I elected to just use the ceramic wire-nuts, so no plug. I'm grateful to people like *YOU* who take the time to show how do'able these repairs are. Nobody should be getting gouged for a $200 service call when it's this simple to fix, and my igniter was only $30, without the plug-in. Thank you for taking the time to video and share! _______

I love how self-sufficient you are! My hubby and I tried to repair a leak in our roof, but it didn't work. I've got to hire someone to do it. We learned that it is a design flaw that affects the water flow. Little more complicated than this, but I still tried! Haha!

Mrs. Mags Thank you! ❤ I needed my oven back for French bread, foccacia & pizza, etc.! I've been using my roaster oven to make sandwich bread, a few cakes, cupcakes, baked Mac & cheese, etc. I couldnt take it anymore...I've been months without my oven. Roofing repairs are the worst. Been there. Done that. Just be sure to check reviews on roofing companies & several estimates. Keep receipts & documentation of every conversation.

Brooklyn's Frugal Pantry thanks for the tips! Do you make your own breads? I'd love to start doing that. It's hard when I work full-time. I'd love to see videos of your bread making skills.

Mrs. Mags I do make all of our breads, bagels, English muffins, etc. Store bought breads are too expensive and taste horrible. I will make videos on them all as soon as I can.

Brooklyn's Frugal Pantry that's great! I'd love to learn how. Try to figure it into my schedule.

Mrs. Mags I do my bread baking on Sundays or at night if I need to during the week. I toss ingredients into my $10 thrifted bread machine on the dough setting so I don't have to supervise it. I don't bother with the Kitchen Aid it can't handle 2 loaves of wheat bread at a time. One day I'll get the Bosch mixer. I have the KA Pro 600 and I don't use it for any bread. I use the bread machine for that. I broke a worm gear and cracked the gear housing on the KA making bagel dough. Bread machines can handle the dough and you can find them used cheap. I love my KA for everything else.

Compare time on video @ 2:44 to @ 5:53 Notice that the wire should be BELOW the bracket and not on top. Over time the wire and and most likely will rub due to expansion / contraction and short out. Everything else is spot on. Good video and your correct about making sure the wires are high temp.

Now that you've repaired it yourself, can you bill the parts and labor to the building management or deduct from your monthly rent? Good to see you back.
@Brooklynsfrugalpantry17 жыл бұрын
DaelithTN I'm not sure. I've made MANY repairs over the years. Their Super doesn't know how to do anything. I'm talking added so much water to paint that it bubbled up & peeled from my bathroom & windows. Then took a drywall knife to scrap it down & took chunks out of the drywall to where it looked like something out of a horror film. I had to go back & skim coat the walls to make it look presentable. I've patched & repainted all of the walls. He "repaired" the leaky drain trap under the kitchen sink so well that it fell off after I turned on the water to do dishes. Didn't know to turn the breaker off when replacing the smoke detector & an outlet in the bathroom so he kept shocking himself. Then didn't know how to wire the outlet. I had to show him how to connect a grounded outlet. All they say is that I shouldn't be making repairs. He doesn't know how to hang a door or frame out a door. They're also charging people to replace their stove and added it to their rent. I love my apartment & the location so I tolerate the b.s. I'd love to be able to charge them parts & labor. It just may not be worth the fight.

you have me encouraged to try this thanks😉 u said u got your part off ebay?
@Brooklynsfrugalpantry16 жыл бұрын
bossy nails Yes, I ordered mine on eBay. If you know your stove's model #, search for your proper part # on their website's parts store. They are always the most expensive for parts, so I always check Amazon, EBay & Google for the best price on parts for any repairs that I make. Just check reviews to make sure you're ordering from a reputable parts store and that it's OEM. I hope this helps you. Good luck. 😊
