"You were 3 years, 1 month, and 5 days." I never thought of Olivia as a mom till that moment. Such a mother thing to know. Fathers don't pay attention to details like that but moms do.

To be fair she does have a photographic memory. It's pretty much the only reason other Olivia blew her cover from time to time.

Anna Torv is a great actress. She deserved many prizes. This scene is really emotional.

Love how Olivia knew who she was the instant she saw her.

But it took Peter a whole episode. It's such a sweet moment

+263Adder you do understand that peter didn't show up until the last minute of season 4 episode 19 right?
@eme.261 Жыл бұрын
@@BalletBullet1 - Season 4 has no bearing on this episode. Henrietta was born after the conclusion of season 4-- Peter spent the same amount of time with Etta, up to the point the family got separated after the invasion, as Olivia spent with Etta. Episode 19, in season 4. where Etta finds Peter technically falls in the season 5 timeline. That episode was a glimpse into the future for the audience.

@@263Adder - In episode 4x19, Peter was only with Etta for a few minutes after he was rescued from amber before he recognized Etta. She asked him, on the train, which they'd boarded immediately after they'd escaped from detection following the critical moment Peter and Astrid were freed from the amber by Etta, Walter and Simon. On the train, when Peter walked over to Etta, he was staring at her intently, as though he should know her, but couldn't understand why. Etta asked him if he knew her and it only took him approximately 20 seconds to realize who she was. I wouldn't validate the frantic minutes that proceeded that moment. Let's give a father credit for recognizing his 23+ year old daughter after seeing her last at the age of 3. The situation he found himself in when he first saw Etta was very different than Olivia's.

The moment Peter told her the year, she knew instantly how old Etta would have been. She just knew it was her. Such an amazing scene. The actress who played Etta deserved more recognition.

I like the silence as mother and daughter looked at one another, all there was was shock and awe and then love.

I love this scene soo much, Olivia's recognizing her daughter right away, waiting for the confirmation from Peter, the count of days only a mom would keep of her daughter's age... and especially her protective mommy mode when she's craddling Etta's head, as if it were that of a baby's head, whispering gently to keep the child still and safe... 😢

Such an amazing scene between mother & daughter. Also had some nice touches of P&O's relationship in there. They obviously still care about each other, you can tell how they immediately interact upon Olivia coming out of amber. And I didn't notice it the first couple times but when Liv & Etta are hugging and they show Peter, he's wearing something around his neck and holding it in his hand (like Etta often does with the bullet). How much you wanna bet if it comes up again it's his wedding ring.

People have different opinions. As actors, they both get criticism. I'm pretty sure no one in Fringe has an Emmy... with the exception of a best soundtrack award. A lot of people think Josh is amazing. A lot of people think Anna is amazing. I think they're both equally awesome. Heck, at some point EVERYONE on this show needed an Emmy. It's a good scene. Anna and Josh were both fantastic in it. (As as the actress playing Etta). Just enjoy it.

I disagree. While Peter's reunion was short, it was just as powerful. I must have watched it a dozen times. I do agree that Anna gets a lot more praise, while they're both great actors.

surely I will ! This show is too good to ignored. believe or not, Symbolically, there's a lot to do with humanity reality. *secret society* higher knowledge. manipulation of human perception. witch craft. mind control. hidden history. awareness. It's all there !!! They're doing a good job by expanding the minds from those who feel something about it. That's what I see, after read books such as Ruled by Secrecy by Jim marrs. Behold a Pale Horse by William Cooper and watch some Chris Everard videos; feels like awaken myself from a trance.

That's not fair. Josh has been in some of the best and most emotional scenes in Fringe. Entire emotional story arcs in season 2 and 4 were dedicated to him. They get the same amount of time.
@Bellatrix2212 жыл бұрын
*shrug* I liked both the scenes. Peter's scene was short but very well acted. Olivia's scene was more drawn out but Peter's small "I found her" made it perfect. This was more of a "whole family together" kind of thing. It needed more time. As a fan of both characters, it honestly wasn't an issue for me.
@thenathalieanneallard174711 жыл бұрын
Can you not judge her as a person. She's acting as Olivia and the writers tell her how to act. Anna and Olivia are two different people. One is call real life and the other is call acting. Know the difference and who cares if she can't grief. I cant. I don't cry in front of people or show any sadness doesn't mean I'm a bitch or whatever. Just means I hate being awkward and people staring at me.

They are good actors, but compared to the lead actors on other TV shows (Breaking Bad, Homeland), they don't compare. John Noble is the one actor in this series that has proven himself to be worthy of an Emmy, but with actors like Aaron Paul and Giancarlo Esposito, even he's got serious competition.

When Olivia finally saw Etta, there wasn't any motherly longing or happiness in Anna Torv's face, which made me really disappointed. I was hoping they'd make a little bit more dramatic. I can understand why a lot of people thinks she's a bad actress (I think she's an okay actress though). I think Anna's not totally capable of expressing a deep emotion such as grief ( especially when Lincoln Lee died).
@brandonmiles867 жыл бұрын
This comment still bugs me. :) Olivia was too busy feeling guilty about giving up on finding Etta to look happy. In that moment, all she could think about was that she stopped looking for her. That's what you see in her face; that's why she doesn't look happy. Also, she was still in shock. Anna is NOT a bad actress.
