The show wanted to emphasize need for donating organs, bringing in JW to play a role in the story guaranteed more eyeballs on the show for the duration of his stay during the story. Smart move on the part of the show - back then they still had around 10 million plus views compared to the pittance they have now. It's why we are getting so much information about the disease, the transplant, donating organs - well done though heartbreaking.

imho robert scorpio, anna devane, and sean doneLLy were the best characters ever on gh and their adventures (1985 - 1991) were the most enjoyabLe storyLines.

@@TheFlun He has a totally different personality than JW---JJY is laid back (introverted) and JW's personality is that of an extrovert---KW is more on an introvert---that's why she and JW worked so well together---he could bring her out far more than anyone else she played opposite her could---that why their stories always surrounded adventure and she got off on it just as much as Frisco did.--when you have two introverted personalities they can be boring. KW once said in an interview on Oprah's Where Are they Now that she attracted to strong men---she's attracted to men whose personality is totally the opposite of her and that's why it's easy for her to lose herself in a relationship.
