Thank you Fr. Mark for an inspirational, God anointed Homily. I related to everything you said, especially having dreamed of naturally being able to fly so effortlessly, it is just like walking, and dreamed of being in heaven where there is a beauty, perfection, brilliance, Peace and Joy that does not exist here on earth. After having had cancer and experienced pain due to grave illnesses, they brought about these blessings you have described. I do believe we are all meant to be with God; we are ALL His children. It does follow we are to be Jonahs to those around us. It is no coincidence we have been born into our nuclear families and develop relationships with friends throughout our life; these encounters I would say are God-incidences. We are to care for one another as well as learn to live with one another within God’s Laws in daily life long conversion, contriteness, being Christ-Centered, and seeking to do God’s Divine Will thru the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the School of Mary, bearing good fruit. If we only knew what awaits us and how our sisters and brothers, who have gone before us, long to greet us in God’s Love, we would daily choose to live a life on earth that leads us to heaven and be with our Eternal Father for all eternity. “For eye has not seen, ear has not heard…what God has ready for those who Love Him.”1Cor.2:9🙏✝🕊

You are right, the dead have not yet been resurrected (1 Thess. 4:13-17). Why then do people believe that the dead go straight to heaven at the moment of death?
@sweetlampe10 ай бұрын
@@mec325They do go to heaven spirit & Soul. The resurrection is of the physical body- a new body.
@mec32510 ай бұрын
@@sweetlampe Please confirm with Scripture what you affirm. We can imagine all kinds of concepts about the resurrection of the dead but Only the Scriptures can separate what is true from what is false. (Job 3.13)The dead rest and sleep. (Psalms 115:17) They do not pray and they are silent. (Psalm 146.4) They do not think. (Ecclesiastes 9.5) They do not know anything. (Ecclesiastes 9.10) They do not work, do not study, They do nothing. (Job: 14. 12) So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. NOTE :The dead in Christ will not yet raised till the heavens be no more.
@Psalm_xxiii10 ай бұрын
@@mec325 You are quoting from the old testament, before Jesus sacrifice, no soul went to heaven. John 5:24 Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Luke 23:43 And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.” Philippians 3:20-21 20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to Himself.
@mec32510 ай бұрын
@@Psalm_xxiii For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad (2 Cor 5:10). Regarding the repentant thief, in the Hebrew language there is no punctuation. (Luke 23:43) And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee (,) To day shalt thou be with Me in paradise "Paradeisos". The comma should have been placed after the word '' today, '' and not after the '' thee(,) ''. The translators failed to understand the context of this event since we all know that Jesus, at His death, descended three days and three nights in the heart of the earth and that is not were paradise is. "Paradeisos": Greek word and according to the Biblical concordance (Strong), paradise would be: The upper regions of the heavens. Have you not read (1 Thess. 4:13-17)? That’s not in the Old Testament!

Where are the spiritual leaders, who claim spiritual insight but are shown to be blinded by their surroundings when the world collapses in despair and misery of all kinds, when there are so many miserable people inflicting a miserable existence into newborn lives and not having a conscience about existence and a purpose without recognizing God as the ultimate reason to exist and a purpose?“Enter through the narrow gate. The gate is wide and the road is wide that leads to hell, and many people enter through that gate. But the gate is small and the road is narrow that leads to true life" (Matthew 7:13-14)./2

It sounds very pessimist but it's reality and we must speak the truth. How many children born in horrible circumstances shall enjoy this existence? How difficult it is for those broken humans not healed or find comfort with a purpose in this existence when their parents came from the same chain in a curse? For unknown reasons, we can't judge those lost souls not existing but gone in darkness into the unknown. /1

Father, may I ask, how do you get others to repent? Mother Angelica said to tell others of their sin (in the most loving and correct way) that it’d be better to “break their nose than let them get hit by a car to prevent them from getting killed”. Other religious leaders say not to tell them and that you could cause more damage (they may never want to set foot in a church because of how angry they may be at you). If you could please help us understand what we are called to do. Thank you. God bless!
