One of the most unique pieces of music I have ever heard

One of the oddest items in the ragtime repertory. A vaudeville contortionist named Moore commissioned this from Jelly Roll Morton, and it was played while he did his act. This was in the Crumb soundtrack-all the music in the soundtrack is great and worth listening to. There are several rags in it performed on guitar which are stunning!

For Charles. What an interesting person he was. For me he was the most interesting of them all. Such a tragic life.

The secret virtuoso of the Crumb dynasty. Such genius is oft to crumble under its own weight. R.I.P.

he redid this song in 1925 or 26 as "Sweetheart O' Mine" this one is from 1918.

Wow, such a great version of this classic. David Boeddinghaus has such a great style.

Dick Hymen said it that sounds like Jelly Roll is trying to play an entire New Orleans marching band. I love how David Boeddinghaus slows this down. You can really hear the syncopation, the melody and how it all comes together. Not that I would actually attempt to play this :)

So far this piece has zero dislikes and I can see why! Heart-meltingly beautiful.
