Honestly I agree that the rule of only 2 overwatch pro people on a team is absolutely stupid, people have been playing marvels enough to realize it’s so different from ow. Yes it’s the same type of game modes, but the characters are completely different. That’s like saying a pro tf2 player couldn’t play in ow cs/league, people would FLAME blizzard for having a rule like that.

It’s so different that top-500 is filled with overwatch players. Nah dude, like the rule is 100% stupid, but marvel rivals is so similar to overwatch that the skill translates perfectly. The positioning, the ult management, core mechanics are all the same. It can’t be compared to tf2 vs overwatch. Overwatch was fundamentally different from tf2 taking only minor inspiration. Here we got a game that’s HEAVILY inspired by overwatch. The equivalent of that would riot making valorant and how that game copied cs while having it’s own spin on it.

the rules were dumm aklso because they kept changing them, allowing lot of pro players in, and with cash money in it, it also made from what lot of people like from twitch rivals - you know normal twitch streamers, mostly from mid ranks duking it out, to what could be considered just pro player gaming, because to keep step with xqc and shroud team, you were just forced to grab other extremely good players
